If Wolverage reverts to GSX Wolverine can he use his trait to regenerate to better than that starting click?
If this is the case because of the fact that there's no starting line or anything like that, doesn't that fly in the face of all the other instances where you can do something like this?
I seem to remember reading "cannot be healed past this click" or something like it on a lot of figures.
It does not fly in the face of previous replacement figures because the rule is "can't go past the starting line." The Alter Ego figures were designed with the idea of not being able to get past that orange line. The non-AE replacements were designed with the idea they could get back to click 1.

I understand the rule is that they can't go past the starting line and that's what makes them different. It just seems to me that every other instance of switching out figures has this restriction and this does not follow that same 'spirit' of the law if it follows the letter.
How do you know they were designed that way?
It seemed to me more like an instance of poor planning.

Why would it be poor planning? AE's are designed to for all intents, the Bruce Wayne dial, and the Batman dial AFTER the orange line. Not so with the HoH. It's closer to Beast Boy. You could take Beast Boy, Morph to the T Rex, get damaged, Morph back to Beast Boy, Teen Titans heal, then Morph back to T Rex (obviously not that quickly, but you get the meaning.)
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing

I'd say it's because the mechanic is so split up among sets. First, good luck pulling or tracking down a HoH chase. Then, you have to go outside of the Hulk set to find those Revert figures (several of which are yet to be released). Every instance of AE has both figures in the same set, with some additional options in a few cases. Not that poor design planning is in any way improbable, mind.
Not only can Wolverine heal past that Revert click, but he can employ the X-Men team ability and along with a Reverted Cyclops can heal many of the other potential Reverts to top dial in a few turns. It's really cool, IMO. And, although it seems to fly in the face of a particular rule, it's in no way broken due to the sheer difficulty of pulling it off: To not use Wolverage as an attacker is just silly, so there are pretty good odds of having him heal from his trait, making the proposition of landing on Revert a gamble at best. Once you do get GSX Wolvie on the board, he's a scant few clicks away from death. Any opponent who has ever heard of HoH should know to target him immediately. If not, Wolvie still has to wait a turn to heal, and has to be adjacent to another X-Men user to heal them. It's a complicated scheme that in any competitive setting would be more trouble than it's worth.
I won't look at your dial-on-card, I don't look at my own, and you don't need to see my DOC, ever. Otherwise, we're not playing HeroClix.

AEs would be the only instance. Other cases where you swap, like Morph, Weapon Swap, Split/Merge, etc are all perfectly okay with healing so long as you don't actually go past the actual green (or whatever color) starting line.
