Once you use an ability on the heroclix card like for example invunrability can you use it again in that same match?

Absolutely. As long as it is showing on the dial, you can use it.

wouldn't that be cheap if I were to keep using something like impervious the whole game though?

Not at all. Impervious is a pretty expensive power! Use it every time you can, because there's a number of powers that just eat through it...Penetrating/Psychic Blast, Exploit Weakness, Pulse Wave, and Outwit, just to name the main one...

Just remember it has to be showing on the dial at the time your being attacked or attacking. Its not pick a power from the character card and use it.

the dial is what you see thru the slot of the base by the boot symbol fist symbol sheild symbol and the starburst symbol

When it shows the color in the corresponding slot [Move, Attack, Defense, or Damage] you can use the corresponding power from the Power&Abilities Card.

Move shows Orange you can use Leap/Climb
For your opponent, they can only counter a power when it's showing in that window

I've completed collecting the IC, CT, XP, CM, Ult, MM, FF, AW, Sin, SN, AVE, M&M, SI, HoT, WoS, GSX, CA, IH, GG, AVM, CW, M10th, ASM, IM3, WK11-16, FI, WX, T:DW, CA:WS, IIM, DoFP, DP, GotG, AoUM, AoU, AVAS NFAoS, CACW, UXM, SFoes, DXF, GotG2, ADW, WI, MT T:RM, AI SW:B, EX, ABPI and X:DPAS sets.

Looking to get PR Professor X (W/X-Men) and pre-release "IC" Wolverine.

Just putting this out there, but have you read the rule book (see the link in my signature)? The basics of the dial layout and what all those little symbols and colors mean is explained on the first couple pages.

If you haven't read the rules, I highly recommend you do so... there is a lot of stuff covered in there.

Read the rules. They do a body good!

Welcome, and thats great. HeroClix is an absolute GAS!

However, a great start would be to read through the rule book and the Powers and Abilities card to get the basics and some of the terms under your belt.
