Alright, as promised, here’s a quick guide for those who’ll be at Dexcon this week and who’ll probably need eateries. Detailed for those who don’t mind getting fresh air, walking & skipping the car ride.
Con based: Inside the convention itself, within steps of the convention registration table they (hotel) set-up tables with food displays, chafing dishes and food warmers. As this is ad-hoc the menu varies, but usual fare includes sandwiches, subs, pizza, salads. Reasonably priced [for grab and go American fare]
The Eclectic Grill is just inside the Hotel proper, just past the electronic gaming room visible from Qube and hotel reception. All three meals for the weekend can be had there, the fare is casual American and per plate the cost is a little more than grabbing a small entrée from the con vending table.
Ming II Pan Asian is out of the hotel proper, but still inside HQP’s building. Averaging a little more than the previous mentions’ it is probably close in price to the last entry in the building: Mehndi for non-vegetarian Indian.
Lastly there is also a convenience store inside the complex for other food choices you may crave or even supplies or sundries you may have forgotten.
Short Directionals: SE of the center and their parking garage is Spring and Morris corner. (Most of your good directions off rt 287 should send you through this area. SW of the center is “The Green” where a lot of food locations will be mentioned.
Breakfast and other vending: Spring & Morris has a Dunkin Donuts on the corner and a convenience store there too.
The Green has a Starbucks close to us, look for the Century 21 Department store.
Fast food choices: Starting right in front of the hotel main entrance is Chinese (Lin’s Palace), Muscle Maker Grill (it’s not really fast food, but they will make healthy sandwiches pretty quickly) and Villa Café for pizza and other Italian.
Off the Green on Washington is Tito's Burritos and there is a Qdoba on 'The Green", there is also a Subway off on the Green on South St.
From the Spring and Morris area there is a Burger King and Raul's Empanada town. You may also want to eat at Macho Nacho for more authentic Tex-Mex. Morristown Diner can be found up here too -for the Jersey Diner experience. Also franchised location of Cluck-U Chicken is here, unless you can handle the heat; don't do the "911" sauce.
For the more sit-down crowds/ or meals these locations will do ya. Also here I will include the bars and lounges. Grasshopper off the Green (Irish Pub and restaurant) is on Morris also take a chance on George & Martha's (American Grill). On "The Green" is "The Office" restaurant and bar chain (think Charlie Brown's; for those that have them) and Famished Frog w/ the Side Bar just off "The Green" on Washington. Also the Qube bar mentioned earlier in the Hyatt.
Let me know if you're looking for something specific or if you'd like to drive and are willing to in/out from the garage.
Part II: Post-Wizkids Gaming:
Putting together Free-play gaming in the RPG area; I'm planning to bring Dominion, Tsuro, Zombies/Ninja/Pirates, Guillotine and Monty Python Fluxx. Hope 'realmsers are willing to play after dinner in the area about 7 PM on Saturday. See you there.

I got a recommendation on Origin Thai -which is my furthest restaurant recommendation -in the early numbers of South St. which is still SouthEast of "The Green". There is also the Sirin Thai off South (on Pine) by Mayo Performing Arts Center.

While I'm not going to this con I did live in NJ for awhile. If you can, go to Jose Tejas. There is not a day that goes by that I don't crave it. Also if you are up for the drive to Teaneck, great sushi at East.
Good Sushi place? I saw a few on my way to the Famished Frog (that $11 Prime rib dinner special on thurs is awesome) and was wondering which is the best, and if that one is any good.

Sushi Lounge by Famished Frog is the only one listed with the Guide I have, but it's from advertisers not something like a Zagat's guide. sushilounge.com
