So I walked into my comic/gaming shop yesterday and the first thing I tell the owner is " I really don't want to play this. There are going to be a lot of complaining, upset and angry people during this." I couldn't have been more right. I'll explain how my fate to the finals with brief descriptions of my battles. Here was my team.

Morgan Le Fay w/ full IG
Sentry/Void
Donald Blake

First match was a complete disaster and where the bizarreness began on this strange day. I was facing a 350pnt Chaos King w/ full IG, Cosmo and Red Shift. Notice what's wrong with this team?#

Second round I tk'd Sentry/Void in at Chaos King and rolled a crit miss. My next two attacks against him were the same. CK put himself in range of single target PW and took out Sentry/Void. Now he was in the range of Morgan Le Fay and I kid you not, I rolled snake eyes again! My opponent and shop owner were completely shocked. Went to heal her with Donald Blake and guess what happened??? She had PC so I went for the reroll and karma must have hated me because I once again rolled snake eyes. After that I was done. I can not explain how angry I was at the moment. If I could have destroyed that shop and everyone in it I would have in a heartbeat.

After the match and much cursing on my behalf a player asked what had happen. We set up to show him what happened and come to find out that single target pw hit Morgan as well. So my opponent, being a good friend and fair player, wanted to restart the match with so much on the line. Needless to say I still lost but ended up with points. All I needed was for only one person to be undefeated through the next three rounds and I'll still have a shot at the finals.#

Second match a faced a 300pnt Galactus with full IG, a 50pnt Watcher and Chaos War Wolverine. After weakening the Devourer I killed Uatu and Logan. While ko'ing them Galactus healed with the Soul Gem, taking out Sentry/Void and Donald Blake. After this I survived by picking the Time Gem and surviving with Shape Change and Super Senses to win.#

After the match the player that had asked about my first match and my first round opponent played. Upon losing the match my good friend realized when adding up his force he was 48pnts over the build total which is unlike any of our players, especially him. I can't recall not once that this has happened. He was completely baffled by it and had no clue how it got by him. His disqualification had reversed the decision of our match and now I'm 2-0. #As upset as I was at my friend now having no shot at winning the tournament I couldn't believe karma had turned my way.

Third match I faced Dr. Doom and Kang w/ full IG with Hydra Renegades and Agents, two of each. After taking out the support with Sentry/Void I sacrificed him and Donald Blake while protecting Le Fay. When it came to her and the nasty duo figure in an ugly battle of pulse waving each other. I barely made it out alive. I'm 3-0 and going to the finals.

To people in the shop this couldn't have been a more epic ending. My opponent, who I don't get along with, and I have a rivalry at the shop and issues outside of it. He's running Sentry/Void as well but with a loaded IG. The rest of his team is 75pnt GG Dr. Strange, White Tiger and Major GlennTalbot. Quickly into the game I hit his Sentry/Void and make him immobile, his speed was setting on Asgard Must Fall, and I knew I had him. Soon after I finished the figure off and went at his support. The game, the whole IG tournament, and the marvelous Thanos was mine.

#I was excited at winning the whole thing but it just didn't feel right knowing the first match really didn't seem like a victory. It never got played out like it should have. On top of that I kept feeling terrible about my friend's mess up costing him his chances at winning. In the end it was just one messed up tournament.

Grats! This is 1 reason i usually count my opponents team up just as we are starting... had 1 opponent cheat this way once but i made him fix it... didn't matter though he cheated the entire match.

After reading this all i could wonder is "why not gauntlet on sentry void...?"

Because I knew everyone would go after him and he's fairly easy to beat if you can get him on clix 3 and 4 which makes him immobile. Besides using him to slow my opponents teams down he was really just a distraction while I pumped up Morgan Le Fay who I think is better with the IG. I much rather rely on Shape Change and Super Senses than Imprevious.
