Mind control is an attack that deals no damage, so a critical hit will not deal the target damage and a critical miss will not deal the attacker any damage either.

Actually the critical hit causes the figure hit to do your bidding AND enjoy it. Once they are released from your command they have a real bad headache.

NO DAMAGE
An attack that deals no damage ignores modifiers to the damage value. Attacks that deal no damage deal neither critical hit damage to the target nor critical miss damage to the attacker (see Rolling 2 and 12: Critical Misses and Critical Hits, below).
....The most confusing thing is the thing you are confused about....
Christopher is right. Of course, then once the character is under your control... That character is subject to the normal dice roll rules (if they get a crit hit they add 1 to the damage dealt by their attack and a critical miss will cause them [not the mind controller] to suffer 1 click of damage).

You do not deal an extra hit on a crit hit nor take a hit on a crit miss
This is the end of the story
Mind you a crit miss automatically misses, even if the roll plus your attack value would be sufficient to hit. And a crit hit is still an automatic hit, regardless of what you need
Let's say you were using R Puppet Master (hypothetical... don't actually do this!) and he had taken 2 clicks. His attack of 4 will hit even smokey feet Captain America on his first click if he rolls a 12 (Cap has a 20 defence from range, PM needs a 16 on the roll to hit...)
Vice versa, your Vet Controller on his third click, with Police on each side, Colossal Boy using PD behind him, triple perplexed attacking R Firelord on his last click and then rolls a 2, he misses. End of story (Net = Controller's attack in this example is 15, Firelord's defence is 4. Controller needs to roll a -12 to miss on the dice)

Wow. 7 defenses. Imagine if they gave that to characters now? People would flip their lids.
