Phoenix and Telekinesis - She's worth it! And FAQ Suggestion on TK.
I don't know if it's just me but I've found Unique Phoenix to have newfound use in a 300 point game.
In my opinion she is stronger under the NAAT rules...her TK is invaluable. And if you perplex her she's a twelve ranged miss with 3 or more damage, and she still has TK.
Not only that - toughness, ok attack, and more. And on her third click (Most figures take 3 damage on attacks, so she'd take 2 to get to this) she has 17 ranged D.
One thing that I think that the rules should allow though is giving her 12 range TK too!
It would justify her 85 points even more - allowing her to throw someone 12 squares away. Also she could do 12 square TK attacks. Considering the power of Phoenix in the comics I think that this would be a good idea.
i always thought NAAT meant NO ATTACK AFTER TAXI, because you can give figures FREE actions after taxi. such as outwit, perplex, and enhancement. this does not work for shield agents though because it requires a move action to use their team ability.

NAAT was created by a member of HCRealms (I believe it was on this message board) as No Action After Taxi as the rule is no action other than a free action after being carried (so no move, power, or combat action). It doesn't really cover the rule very well (as you point out with the free action part) but some people keep using it.

Back to Phoenix - E or V Psylocke is her best friend. That allows her to do 3 damage without perplex. So, you could use E or V Gambit and use his perplex to increase her attack rating and still do 3 damage. With enhancement, she'd be able to do 4 damage with a TKed heavy object. You could also use V-Beast and have a charging figure to toss for up to 5 damage (with Gambit and Beast's own perplex together).

Was there a ruling on this? Attacking with an object using TK is a power action and the only mention of "ranged combat attack" is in the line "The attacker must have a clear line of fire to the target as if it were making a ranged combat attack" so it seems to indicate that this is not a ranged combat attack but something else. And Enhancement only works if the character is making a ranged combat attack.
I would think that enhancement should work (it does if you throw an object since that is a ranged combat action) but I've got caught assuming things with these rules too many times to just let it go.
Just wondering...

Found my own answer (I think). Although the rulebook states "as if it were making a ranged combat attack" the PAC states "(3) It may make a ranged combat attack using an adjacent object that is not held by another character". So one says it's a ranged combat attack and the other is "as if it were a ranged combat attack."
I'm going with it being a ranged combat attack and Enhancement and ES/D working.

Hmm... since it says "adjacent" then a rules lawyer could say that an object in the same square as the TK figure couldn't be used. A figure and an object in the same square are technically not adjacent.

True but the rulebook says:
"Characters with the Telekinesis power can move objects and use them as weapons. Characters must be adjacent to or in the same square as an object to use Telekinesis on that object."
So this would seem to contradict the adjacent only portion of the PAC.
