One player has a perplexer in front of daredevil and wants to attack DD. He has some secondary attackers in the wings and wants the perplexer to perplex down DD's defense for the secondary attackers to take advantage. Can he do that even though DD is benefiting from Invisible Girl's defense, and the perplexer can't see Invisible Girl?
I'm thinking that if no one can perplex down invisible girl's defence then it would be pointless to perplex down DD's defence because he still shares IG's 18. It would seem that IG is going to use her powers to shield anyone adjacent to her therefore if someone were to inhibit or undermine her power's effect then they would have to direct it toward her, not DD. But I am looking at it from a comic book point of view. Perhaps there is some reason that it should be otherwise for gaming purposes.
Thanks for the reply. Makes sense, but doesn't Invisible girl's Defend make DD's printed value = 18 - which then can be perplexed down for the purposes of his opponent's turn?
Daredevil doesn't have to use Invisible Girl's defense until he is being attacked. So before the attack happens (which is when the perplexing would have to be done since it can't be done mid-action) he would be using his own defense and this is what you would be perplexing.

That wouldn't allow the secondary attackers to take advantage of the lower defense. No matter. Doesn't look like it does you any good unless you can see Invisible Girl to perplex down HER defense...

Yeah but I think Ando was making reference to perplexing the defense down so that if you missed Daredevil the perplex stays for the next attacker. If you perplex up the attackers attack and miss then the perplex became useless.
