This Aladdin´s quote is the best way to describe how my venue felt when they saw my team on the IG8 event for the Thanos

The rules for the event:

Almost my entire venue went nuts when they saw this “Black Knight? Really? You should have used something better…” and the little guy proved them wrong the whole day =D

Round 1
Chaos King, AIM Agent x3, Scarlet Witch (75 pts)

I won the initiative and didn’t acted, my opponent moves his King with TK and his AIM´s, third turn Thanos pulled the King into range of the Black Knight, perplex attack, triple enhancement and two hydra adjacent to him blasted a hole into the king with 6 damage with PPB =D and then a renegade sealed the King with barrier, perplex Thanos def and “toy with you” Genis vell, turn, Genis uses PW and misses Thanos and Black Knight, King HSS hit the wall and run, only to be pulled again by Thanos for the Black Knight to hit him again and send him to the grave… Genis vell tries to break away and fails, Black Knight uses Masters of evil TA to hit Genis and seal the game, after that it was just chase the AIM agents and the witch

Won the game, lose just one renegade

Round 2
Runner, Genis-Vell, Scarlet Witch (50 pts), Donald Blake, gamma bomb

PERFECT GAME!!!! I cannot say less of this one, cause everything was perfect up to the last dice roll

Thanos pulled runner and genis, Black Knight attacks like the last time and... DOUBLE SIX!!! With 7 damage bye bye Runner in one hit, my Agent goes to the bomb and rolls a 5 so I get 4 more turns, Genis vell PW and hit Thanos, Black Knight and 2 renegades, scarlet witch gets into range for her PC, one renegade outwit the Witch and Black Knight and Thanos seal the deal against Genis, Scarlet and Thor (via Donald Blake) managed to kill the renegades

Round 3

Dr. Doom and Kang, Ultron, Iron man (110 pts), Iron man drone

5 Damage on Dr Dang (for his power that stops damage) and barrier on ultron to prevent her PW made this the quickest game till now, Iron man and the drone get into battle when Dr Dang died and ultron took a nasty 6 damage hit from Thanos and a hit from a renegade to kill her

After that Top 8 with direct elimination

Dr. Doom and Kang, Ultron, Iron man (110 pts), Iron man drone

Yep :P we almost perfectly reenacted the last game because we both got into the top 8 and it didn’t matter if we already have played before

Round 5

Thanos chase, Genis-Vell, Scarlet Witch (50 pts)

Thanos vs Thanos could have been the mirror match I was so afraid of, but fortunately he didn’t had a themed team as me, so after I won the initiative it was just a matter of waiting for the turn to pull him and let the punish begin… for me… :P

I hit the Thanos and let him on his “STONE GOLEM: Give Thanos a double power action if no friendly Stone Golem tokens are on the map and place a Stone Golem token on the map in an adjacent square. That token becomes a bystander token as described to the right.”… this was bad as the Golem got adjacent to my Black Knight before he could get the second attack on Thanos, a couple of bad roll dice from my opponent forced him to decide for trying to hit Thanos with his diminished attack (Via “toy with you” and perplex) or using PW and risking his Golem… he decided to go for all after his Golem failed against the Black Knight and PW, hitting everyone including the Golem (Lucky me!!!!), after that Black Knight was free again to hit Genis and seal the semifinals for me

Round 6

Sentry and Void, Tony stark x2, Rick Jones x2, Scarlet Witch (75 pts), Donald Blake, Gamma Bomb

And here I am at my worst fear with a sentroid in front of me (the other one lose to this team on the last round… that’s right… semifinals were Thanos vs Thanos and Sentroid vs Sentroid)

Fortunately I won the initiative, same as before on the third round I pulled Sentroid and scarlet after setting my agent, and renegades and rolling a 5 for the bomb (leaving her behind Thanos so she couldn’t see the Black Knight) 6 damage on Sentroid “toy with you” for 8 attack and turn, he moves scarlet with Phasing next to Black Knight, and sentroid tries to get away (he was on his running shot PPB against 20 def of Thanos) he rolls a SIX!!!!! I CAN´T BELIEVE IT!!!! I use my last team PC (I used one on the first attack) and he rolls a 5, he uses PC from the witch and… HE ROLLS A SIX AGAIN!!!! (by this moment a friend of mine who was watching the game leaved the room cause he was convinced it was my end cause the sentroid run to Donald Blake for a heal) Donald heals 1… Thanos rests (at this moment my friends thought I was crazy but his sentroid had 2 tokens so I was save for that turn and my plan was in motion)

Sentroid rests and on my turn I pulled him and Scarlet again, Black Knight hits and he uses theme PC with sentroid, only to be hit again by Black Knight, turn, same as before he moves the witch for a second try on breaking away… AND HE ROLLS A SIX AGAIN!!!!! He runs again for heals with Donald who this time gets a 5 and heals 3… my plan is still in motion (even If my friends are looking kind of desperate as I am resting with Thanos again)

I pulled on last time and now Black Knight has already lost his PPB and relies on his 2 damage, my renegades have been taking the outwits from his Tony Starks and don’t retaliate, perplex damage from the agent to Black Knight, one last enhancement and he hits Sentroid for 3 damage (he had toughness) and sentroid is in his last click (I knew cause he had regeneration) I sighted contented and my friends cant believe im happy when I see him on regeneration, my renegade has a clean shot on sentroid and the go wild when I choose to hit Tony Stark instead, the renegades hit the Starks and one Rick Jones (the other one pushed himself into Genis vell for the PC but never got to see my Black Knight) im about to give turn and my opponent turns to me smiling to the fact that he can regen on his turn until everyone comes to realize what have we been doing so systematically that they lost track of… his turn starts and…

THE GAMMA BOMB EXPLODES!!!!! =D

He was moving his own bomb each turn but was so into the game that he didn´t really counted the turns as I had been doing all this time, with 3 damage from the bomb and the fact that my renegades hitted his Tony´s he stays with Genis vell on his last click and Donald blake (he was outside the blast)…

And from the ashes of the explosion… you could see 3 figures standing next to each other as brothers in battle… a very badly wounded AIM Agent… the powerful Thanos… and the rightful owner of the title…

THE BLACK KNIGHT!!!!!!!

Thanos hitted Genis Vell for 4 damage for an overkill and waited patiently until he could get adjacent to his Thor (again he changed Donald Blake), base Thor and take an attack from him… perplex attack… and there goes Thor…

THANOS IS MINE!!!!!!! =D

I was so happy!!!! And im still getting comments on “really??? A Black Knight???” maybe that’s the thing im most proud of!!!!! taking a piece anyone gives credit and turning him into a force to be reckoned with!!!!

That was a totally awesome adventure!
Now that is some Heroclix playing in my book!

Round 2 opponent should have forfeited as he played the Runner who was neither from IH, GG or CW.

Congrats on your win! My only thing is this...

If you look at the main IG8 thread, I think people have known that Black Knight is at least decent for quite some time. He's far from a "little" guy with 10 attack, 3 damage penetrating and MoE TA. Nice job though.

The venue counted the elders as GG, because they said that if you fought so hard for them on the events they wanted to give you the chance to use them (i forgot to mention that on the rules xDDD) and ty ty ^^




Yep but in my venue he is considered as a "loser representation of a loser character", they didn´t even look at him as an option on a sealed event :P so it was fun using him to change that ^^

I've been eyeing Black Knight since this set first came out. The Running Shot/Psi-Blast combo is nice, then you toss in the 18 Defense, and you've got a pretty sweet figure for only 95pts. I've been toying around with a Thunderbolts theme team with Black Knight on it using Zemo's special "Thunderbolts Gambit" to make BK a Thunderbolt.
