I don't think that's a valid argument. It's already been stated that "can use" will qualify a character for a feat. In fact, that's clearly stated in the rules:
1) Combat value does not need to be visible on the character's starting click.
2) If it can use the power or ability, it can be assigned a feat.
However, range is not a power or an ability.
Abilities are "combat abilities, team abilities, and special abilities."
Combat abilities are ,, etc
Team abilities are JLA, Avengers, etc.
Special abilities are flight, carry, etc.
Powers are special, standard and named powers (from the PAC).
No where does range fall under any of those categories.
They still can't use Ambidexterity. There is no slot where they have a 6 range. There is a slot where they can use a power as if they had a range of 6.
Just like Victor Von doom cannot use Ambidexterity as per the fact that he has even though his special says he may use MC as though he had
Compare this to BN Atom "Atom can use Support. When he does his attack value becomes 12." Even though he never has 11+ attack on his dial; he can use Thundering Blow because his attack changes into a 12 (note it can only be used with support so Thundering Blow would be useless barring any strange scenerio)
Johnny Sorrow "Can use Pulse Wave (as though he has a range of 10) His damage value becomes 2 for the attack." He can't use anything requiring a 10 range because he never has it. But the 2 damage value he DOES have.
This ruling goes back aways regarding Wonder Woman's lasso and extended range. They ruled then just that. That being able to use a power at a set range via a special power does not qualify for a feat.
I may be mistaken, but I don't think this question ever got conclusively answered...
Can you put Ambidextrous on a character who has 0but has a special power that gives it at least 6 ?
Harpua gave his answer back on the second page. No other rulings have since been made to contradict that answer.
If you are asking for this to be spelled out explicitly in the PG or something, that would something to add next time a "Next Player's Guide" thread appears or, perhaps better yet, add it to the Parking Lot thread here.

Yup. I read both his comments on the matter before I made that comment.

He says "I think so" AND "no"

What does the dial say that BA/Shazam's range is? Zero? What does the feat require? Six range or more, right? So, no, they wouldn't qualify.
Now, looking at their special power, does it say that their range is six? Nope. Just that they get to use a suped up energy explosion, "as if their range was 6." The, "as if," means that it is not a range of 6.
Actually, "as if" has meant "is" many times in the past in this game.
Additionally, I see no reason why this would be different than Earthbound allowing a figure to qualify for feats requiring , , , or .
And this suggests he's saying "yes"
So, since it was not conclusively answered, can Black Adam/Shazam! use Ambidextrous or not?
How much can you take, and keep moving forward?
The Green Lantern Corps is DC's version of the US Marine Corps.
Sorry for the thread Necro, but it's related and I thought it would be better than creating a new thread.
We can assign ambidexterous to anyone regardless of range since we can assign feats to anyone now and just use them when the prereq is met.
My question is, is if you assign this feat to a character with 0 range, does it cost anything?
Prerequisites: Range value of 6 or more and one {bolt}.
Choose a character.
The character now has {bolt} {bolt}.
Cost: Twice the assigned character's unmodified range value.
I'm assuming no, since the unmodified range value is 0. Is this just a particular feat that has been 'broken' since the rules were changed to allow feats assigned to anyone? Or has then been an errata or rule change on this one?

That is not the correct version. I am guessing you quoted from the Units section? Don't do that... use, the PG, please.
AMBIDEXTROUS
Cost: Twice the assigned character’s printed range value. (Minimum cost 12)
Prerequisite: Range value of 6 or more and one .
Choose a character. The character now has .

Yes. Sorry for that. I didn't know there was a difference. Thanks!
