A tournament is coming up. 400pt golden age. Someone is using Cosmic Spiderman, but I usually beat them in any other game/tourney when they do not use it. I haven't faced a Cosmic Spidey and I would like to know if this team would beat him and how to make it better.

Pros: Avengers Theme Team with Mystic TA (spiderman TA on everyone except SW/WM which has Mystic). A guy with exploit or Flurry and he has regen (more Mystic damage hahahahahaa!) and a duo that has prob on pretty much every click that is not bad but great in my eyes.

Cons: pretty much all of the eggs in one basket with one mystical to copy TA from. And want to know what else.

Team is alright but the issue is stealth. A smart builder will use a cheap Batman Ally like ragman or even the Alfred bystander to give spidey stealth. Then they would add mystics to punish you for hitting him or cheap fantastic 4 pieces to heal up. Or worse yet, putting a partial gauntlet on and carrying Edward Nigma around. So try to build more diversely to deal with these issues. You could always run Kid Zoom!

Edit: building theme to pick map would work well...pick shadowlands!

Disclaimer: I've never played against Cosmic Spidey.

Looking at CS in the Units section, two things are apparent:

1st: Assume that he's going to roll to hit one of your figures every turn from the 2nd turn on (and maybe even the first if you move one or more figures towards him). With a 10 range and 12 AV (maybe more with support) and an SP that never lets his line of fire be blocked, you just have to assume that he'll always be in position to hit, and worse, that you'll have to move to attack him.

To me, this means that your figs need a way to avoid some of those hits, because you can't count on him not rolling 5's or 6's to hit most figs. So, you're looking at Shape Change and Super Senses, preferably both. Perplex is less useful than usual because it's virtually impossible to protect any fig, so he'll just take out the one whose defense you don't increase. Look for figs that can share those important defensive powers (like FF Professor X, who can share Shape Change).

Chase Loki from AVM might be a nice fig to build around. He's tough to get off that first click with Shape Change & Super Senses, he has phasing/teleport, and with Mystics, CS will take damage if he does get in a hit.

I was going to hope that after pushing them I would get Impervious and avoid some damage. I agree with prof x ff and loki except that I don't have either. I basically have only real sets as in 5 pieces to a booster so no avm, dkr, ff except for cw and gl movie, and Gravity feed except for Green lantern movie. I know that daredevil is good but he ruins theme team.

Have you considered using a DC Legion of Superheros build.

This will give you theme, pick shadow lands, earth man stops any of his speed abilities. You will be able to get to within 7 squares of CSM without worrying if he is going to shoot your figs. Just hope that he does not have a TK'er.

I sadly do not have that ff pack but I do have the regular set pieces but I think that would ruin theme team. Although Earth man does help me so thinks for the idea.
