Okay....this seems like a dumb question, but it was bugging me, so I'll ask you guys.
Enchantress (DC52) has this as her trait:
Quote
DEFEATING THE JUSTICE LEAGUE: Enchantress modifies her attack and damage values by +1 when attacking a character with the Justice League keyword.
Okay, this all seems very simple. However, she can dual target as indicated with the . So, here's the question.
She targets 2 characters for an attack. One Justice League keyword, one Marvel character. She misses with the JL character, but hits with the Marvel character who is weaker.
So....she keeps the modified combat values for damage despite the fact that the character doesn't have the JL keyword.
The argument at today's game was this......you activate the Trait at the beginning of the attack. But you can't have different attack and damage values for different targets. All the combat values have to be the same, so, even if you miss with the JL keyword figures, the combat values are still modifies.
Therefore.....Enchantress hits the Marvel figures with +1 damage??
Can anyone clarify the rules here or if this is incorrect?
I don't have the rulebook open, but there is a line that states a character who gets a bonus against a certain type only gets it against that type.
So if you shot one justice league and one non-justice league, the +1 attack would only apply when comparing the defense of the justice league figure.
The +1 damage could only be assigned to the justice league character if you hit both(or lost if you fail to hit the justice league figure)
This is the correct answer, although it is in the Player's Guide, not the main Rule Book.

When a modifier during an attack is based on a figure meeting a particular criteria (usually the targeted character), then that modifier only applies to the targeted character(s) but would not apply to any targeted characters that did not meet the criteria.
