I'm looking to form an X-men team out of the 10thAnnivesary set or at least Chaos War or newer. If anyone has done this and had success I would like to hear some good examples and how they played out for you. Thanks for your time.

Do you have the GSX Fast Forces set? There are some good lower-costed X-Men in there, and with your choices limited only to Chaos War and above, you're going to have a tough time synchronizing a team. So, my point is, if you don't have this, and you want to play X-Men, it would be worth picking up.

And how big a team are you trying to build?

Let's just start right off with the big ? Do you have the tenth anniversary dark phoenix?

If so continue if not get one.

Dark Phoenix @ 100
M10 Storm
CW Wolverine

Would give you a fairly strong team at low points.
CW Wolverines a good tie up piece
M10 Storm is a solid range attacker
DP is all sorts of busted.

Common White Queen
Rare Dark Phoenix @ 100
Rare Storm

If White Queen uses MC to target a character of less than 100 points, she gains BP tokens and has the advantage of being able to move the target within range of DP/Storm. I think that unless you really want to use the Diamond form of Emma Frost, White Queen is always the better (and cheaper) choice.

On a semi-related note, here's an effective 300-point Brotherhood team:

Scarlet Witch (CW) @ 75
Uncommon Magneto (M10)
Quicksilver (CW)

Currently building 600 point teams to choose one from for a tournament tomorrow. I do have all the figures you guys listed except the GSX FF. My current team choices are:
JL team: Green Lantern 72pts, Wonder Woman 136pts, Superman 204pts, Green Arrow 95pts, John Jones 90pts

Avengers: Thor 200pts, Iron Man 225pts, SheHulk 75pts, Sharon Carter 45pts, Scarlet Witch 50pts

Green Lantern Corps: Green Lantern 145pts, Kilowog 145pts, Sinestro 100pts, Ganthet 200pts

Really want to add an X-men team to this list but, I may have to wait for a lower point tournament or until my collection grows a little more. From the strategies I've been reading the Avengers team will be a turtle (which is really not my style) and the other two have more of a spearhead tactic. Not really sure which way to go yet but The Green Lantern Corps will always be my favorite team in HC. Thanks for the input!

Play what you enjoy most. That's what is important.

Its a lot of annoying accurate figures there.
But really at 600 there would be almost no reason I wouldn't play 350 braniac + full gauntlet and support, at 600 you will see sentroid and chanos.

Thanks Hero. I have those figs and will definately give em a try. I went with The Green Lantern corps and was just destroyed. I blame it mostly on my really crappy dice rolls though. And for some strange reason the tournament was still a blast despite going 0-3.
