He seems... a little expensive, for sure. That's 200 points of fairly easy to kill, all things considered. In a high point game, however, he will probably shine.
I don't agree with the overcosted or over the Top. I think he is the beast version of Batman that has every gadget he needs when he needs it. Totally prepared ready to save the World not just Gotham. The Batman that runs the Justice League and takes out Amazo solo.
He is not overcosted. Every other attack his value jumps up which brings all those 10's to 11's as a minimum attack value. With alternating perplex and outwit mixed with lots of Flurry even Superman better think twice.
I personally will probably play the 100 point version more thsn the other but it is fun to have the big dog veteran version. As a fan I hope they give us as interesting a mix of Spider-Man dials in the upcoming set. Most villians remain pretty static but Heroes have to constantly change and adapt.
I think 200 pts for Batman is just fine, considering he always rises to the level of his opponents with some gadget. in this case it's Indomitable with special power making him almost certain to hit every time he pushes. His movement power is awesome, and keyword power is cool.
the piece that will keep too many high-point games from happening- bad enough he (at that top value) will render your entire team stealthable while he's on the board... so long as you're playing keyword pure. he's also got a dial and sp that make him so pushable as to be as dangerous as Barda.
Granted.. I almost expect to see him at his middle and lower starting points more than the top slot 200
"A" is "A". And no matter what universe he's from, Luthor... is Luthor.
I love and hate this figure simultaneously. I love Batman; therefore I love this suped-up version of my favorite character. I hate, however, that it reminds me of the Veteran Batman from Legacy. For as offensively scary as it was, that Bats could really go down fast if an opponent got a couple hits in. Same here. That top click of Toughness isn't going to slow down much. Of course the stealth is nice, but didn't a ton of Avengers Initiative TA's get handed out this year? And there's that 001 Superman . . .
This is a great example of the comic-accuracy benefits of improved movement. Batman shouldn't fly, but should be able to drop down from the middle of a roof and smack someone in the face. Swingline is perfect for that.
