Agree with Owlman that teaming him up with Nightshade from CA would be great fun, especially if you had a bunch of weak minions to tie up your opponents (think Researchers from WoS!!!). Not bombastically great, but he'll create some fun and memorable moments in Clix. Kudos, designer! 3 stars.
Again, I like this okay, but I suspect others will use this better than I will. It would be pretty fun to get this in sealed and shut down the Outwit and Perplex that everyone is so desperate to get.
That's Absorbing Man, btw. But I do love my abs, too.
How badly do you hate Outwit? Bad enough to pay 89 points for a sub-par character to limit its use? Bad enough to bring that fragile character within 4 squares of that Outwitting opponent? Bad enough to protect that character the whole while? As a perk, you get a monster-making power for your 'bodyguards', who incidentally, you'll be dealing damage to the whole time. Gotham villains are great for creative dials and fun gimmicks, but not great for competitive play. That's exactly what you'll find here.
Maybe if all of his powers (Mind Control, Outwit cancelling) worked at a range greater than 4, he would be worth his points. As it is, though, he's 89 points of easily killable, barely dangerous target for your opponent's team.
lol! this guy is made to play with your small little throw away figures. 'oh what's your name son?? MAUL you say?? they don't respect you, you say?? ok well take some of this and send them to hell''! lol i can't wait!
@antonio.clark.art is my instagram.take a look and tell me what you think....be blessed!!!
This guy is a piece that will decide many games. But not in the was you think I mean. People are either going to underestimate him or forget his power set which will leave them in a bad position. Or they will realize his power set and totally destroy your team since he can be played around easily if your thinking about how to do so. I don't like this figure because his usefulness does not seem to be stable from game to game.
This seems another Bat-Enemy criminal genius behind the scenes who will be KO'ed all too easily from range. If the Monster-Man Serum included a bump to attack values, he would be worth the points.
Play him for the killer trait--but how to protect him when he's four or less squares away from all of your opponent's figures? His effectiveness is really going to depend on who you team him with.
"In brightest day, In blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight . . ."
That monster serum power will be a fun way to knock a friendly character off of their first click. He also fixes some of then less mobile character's main problem. I doubt I'll play him often, despite that. His best trick is one that cost you clicks, and he's pretty easy to take out to boot.
I WANT to like him. I really, really do. But MC at the default 4 range is a point dump, and his dial is really short with basically no defenses. Yeah, the OW/Ppx neuter is neat, but he's got to be up close and personal for it. And the Monster Serum is really cool...If you have someone you don't mind getting dinged for it. Sure, thugs can go under the bus (and then pick it up) but it's a one-trick pony.
His trait is nice, but I don't see him lasting to long within 4 squares of opposing characters. Although, pulling off a Mind Control/Monster Serum combo would be hilarious.
