Does CW LE Mr. Fantastic suffer from this issue as well? I played him over the weekend and we agreed that the TA he grants via his Trait goes away once he's off the map, but I would think this ruling would dictate that as well.

Yes, he is another piece that will be effected by this ruling/rules change/whatever we are calling it at this point.

The point being, an effect whose "intent" was to remain after the figure was KO'd or otherwise removed from the game would be stated on the card.
