Only if expanding the starting zone doesn't allow you to fit elsewhere and the vehicles are larger than 2x2.

What happens with Hawkworld? Would the special map text still apply to the special squares that are now considered the expanded Starting Area?

And I assume the entire row(s) would count as the expanded starting area, not just the individual squares needed for the vehicle to occupy.
