Please tell me why this wouldn't work (or would it).
I'm playing GG Dr. Strange and SI Dr. Strange.
GG Dr. Strange's power:
Concentrate on One Projection: Give Dr. Strange a free
action and choose an opposing character adjacent to a friendly
Astral Dr. Strange. This turn, Dr. Strange can target that
character regardless of range, squares, or line of fire when making
a ranged combat attack or using Outwit or Perplex.
If I give GG Dr. Strange a free action to have Dr. Strange be able to target an opposing character next to an Astral Dr. Strange, can SI Dr. Strange target the opposing character regardless of range, squares, or line of fire also?

Well, it's clearly not in the spirit of the game for one. I for one would rule that it wouldn't work, not because I can quote where it says in the rules that it can't, but because I hate it when people try to exploit the game in this way.

Don't have the quote, but it says in the Rulebook/PG when a character refers to it's own name, it's referring to itself. If the ability said 'friendly characters named Dr. Strange' it would work the way your saying.

Correct. SI Dr. Strange cannot target through the astral versions. However, he *would* be effected if an Astral Dr. Strange was KOed due to:
Quote
DR. STRANGE'S ANIMATING SPIRIT: When this character is KO'd, roll a d6. On a roll of 1-3, give all friendly characters named Dr. Strange an action token.
Since that says "all friendly characters named" both of your Dr. Strange figures would get a token on a roll of 1-3.
That's because both players' Larfleeze have the power allowing them to use the Orange constructs. A War of Light Fast Forces Larfleeze wouldn't be able to use them because he doesn't have that power. Its that lack of ownership description on the constructs themselves that cause either player to be able to use them.
