Don't really see a rule problem with this but it just sounds too crazy.
Ok 600 point Galactus with Nova Blast.
Let Galactus pilot the Batcycle and use it to for lack of a better word shrink him (make him standard size so its not as easy to draw lines of fire to him) so that he could get in a great place to eject then Pulse Wave for 6. There has to be something I am missing here.
the only real drawback I see is that your pulse wave would hit your bike, so it would always count as having more than one target and only do 1 damage. If you dont mine that part, then it seems like a legit strategy.
edit ` duh, missed the part about novablast. You would still hit your own bike, but the multi-target thing wouldn't matter for the nova blast attack.
I couldn't find anything in the rules either. Just seems like a hard tactic to guard against.
Remember, Galactus can't act after hopping "off the bike" so your opponent has a turn to do something.
Also, beware of CA Nightshade. One dose of Werewolf Serum and Galactus ain't using Pulse-Wave!
Your other option is don't run / play in games over 600 points and you never have to worry about it.
Really, games need to be run with what the majority of players enjoy. If you and your friends enjoy 1000 point games where massive amounts of damage get thrown about and the players love to see figures get one-shotted - then this combo is perfect for it.
I despise those kinds of games. I find them dull and just a dicefest. So I would run a 700+ game with one or more of the following rules so that more than "that guy" would show up:
No figures with greater than 4 printed damage
No Colossals
You must have at least 6 figures on your team
No figures under 100 points
etc
As long as everyone understands what could possibly be played, it should be all good.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Tonight we are doing our annual no holds barred point total equal to the year New Years tournament. I will not be playing but running the event and I am looking up and trying to figures out rule situations that may come up. With the point total, feats, resourses and vehicles some of the tactics and situations that come up can be both confusing and brutal. As for point totals on regular games I personally like 500 and under for normal situations, but sometimes players want to show off all their Wiley-Coyote type chain reaction they have had scheming away for the past year.
