My gut reaction is "Nobody can avoid unavoidable damage!"
Here's what the rules say about unavoidable damage:
Unavoidable damage is damage dealt that can't be evaded, reduced, modified, ignored, or transferred to another character.
Here's what the Bug can do:
When The Bug would take damage, you may click the Hazardous Environment dial instead. The Bug is only wrecked when its Piloted dial is knocked out.
Also:
When The Bug would take damage, you may click either the Hazardous Environment dial or The Beetle dial instead.
A player the other night was arguing that what the Bug can do is not evading the damage, not reducing the damage, not modifying the damage, not ignoring the damage (since "ignore" has a specific Heroclix meaning), and not transferring the damage to another character (just to another dial).
So, is this right? Can the Bug avoid unavoidable damage by putting the damage on another dial?
If anyone is worried about the Bug's cheese-ness i suggest turning to Hulkmariner with a bum load of perplex...
Ok i know some one will ask for clarification so here go. Earthbound/neutralize gives standard combat symbols. Bug cant have a pilot or use piloted abilities if its not a vehicle
Or, just mind control Blue Beetle out of the Bug. Kill either Blue Beetle or the Bug. The other is no longer much of a threat.

Of course, this assumes that the Bug doesn't have the Utility Belt with the Suit of Sorrows, giving it Battle Fury. This was the situation that I saw a few days ago.

Well, there is that issue. I wonder what other costumes will bring to the table. I can't imagine the Suit of Sorrows not being replaced soon.

Hahahahahaha!! I don't know which presents a better image, the HUGE Utility Belt necessary to circumnavigate the Bug or the dry cleaning bill for that Suit of Sorrows!
