The way his smoke cloud works is like a ranged poison, I think it's actually better as is.
Its mostly better (limited to when you have no action tokens- Worse- and not all figures- just one per square of smoke). you can lay it out hitting four figures, from a selection of twenty four squares. And as you said at range.
And if the judges were to rule that removing a square counts as one damage, and then removing another square adjacent to the same figure, and so on. It would be able to hit a figure four times for 1 damage each.
I doubt that they would based on other figures that have similar powers, but the wording is -
"When these hindering terrain markers are removed at the beginning of your turn, you may deal 1 damage to one opposing character occupying or adjacent to a removed marker’s square."
From what we know of the point formula, 4 clicks of Super Strength in a row (Spider-Man) costs more than double what 2 clicks does (Red Star). Spidey also has 3 clicks of the HSS in a row, a full dial of Super Senses, then Perplex and CCE.
Attack and Defense numbers on Spidey are also consistently higher (one 11, five 10s, one 9 compared to three 10s, three 9s, one 8 on Attack, and one 18, four 17s, two 16s compared to four 17s, two 16s, and a 15 on Defense). Their speeds are comparable, and Red Star has better Damage values.
I'm not saying I think they're worth the same. But the point formula seems to cost things higher when there is the same power for a lot of clicks in a row.
We also don't know the cost of the Morph trait.
I understand paying for consistency and consecutive powers: it means you still can do the same thing after getting a bit damaged.
However, the price of the first click should be much higher, as it's the one that will always be available. If a first click has 10 HSS, 10 attack with SS, and 3 damage, that's a very useful click that it's immediately available. And, since HSS is in the top 3 of alpha strike powers (along with TK from other fig, and maybe RS), it means he will almost always be able to use it, at least once.
In any case, it's a great dial, so I'm happy for Titans fans. I know a friend of mine that was delighted when he saw it. I just wish I could be also pleased on my favorite char, and that makes me rant more than it's probably wise in a thread dedicated to another character.
Needs more 'Russia' keyword. But then, I guess we can't really field patriot keyword teams for any country very well, so why give the Ruskies an advantage
In seriousness, though, solid figure and it's always good to see new blood Clixed well!
Arguendo of the Beige Lanterns (Pedantry Corps)
Feb 2015: JL Trinity War has have given us the CSA, playable and together. Twice. ROCK ON!
REClixed: Justice for Dmitri Pushkin (your sacrifice will not be forgotten)! New generic Rocket Red @50-75 points while we're at it? Still no 19DV Defender? (WoS Groot doesn't count)
Power Girl AND Bust.
Sure, why not? If we raise enough awareness, we might get another Rocket Red generic piece and a Dmitri updated for OMAC story instead of having to play pieces that were bordering on unplayable at the time they came out (playing multiples of Gennidy doesn't qualify for keyword)...or, far more likely, a Red Son Superman that brings nothing new or intersting except the sculpt

i love how people think there is still a consistent point formula. there isnt and hasnt been one for a long while,if ever. a very solid click. wouldnt mind playing with 2 of im' and support on a standard modern format.
