From the Player's Guide (as well as all vehicle cards):
Quote
When a vehicle in Piloted mode does not have a pilot and is given a non-free action, after actions resolve, deal it 1 unavoidable damage.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't believe that the vehicle rules are printed on the motorcycle cards. It was printed on all the Batman set vehicles because it was a brand new mechanic being introduced with that set. I think Split/merge was the same. Printed on the CW duos and no duos since. Again, not 100% sure, but I believe it is this way.

I have all the vehicles from streets of gotham and this is included on all of them.
The reason Split/Merge disappeared was cause it was added to the rule book at that point. Vehicles have not reached that point yet.
