Telekinesis:

Give this character a power action and designate another target character or object (A) and a destination square (B).
This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B.
If A is a character, it must be a single base character and possess the symbol.
If A is an opposing character, make a close or ranged combat attack that deals no damage against A, and only place the character in B if the target is hit.
If A is an object and B is occupied by an opposing character, this character may make a ranged combat attack targeting the character occupying B, dealing object damage and destroying the object.
A character that has been placed by Telekinesis this turn can’t use Telekinesis this turn.
Ok so there's the power. I always thought I understood it. When moving a friendly character I always thought that basically what it came down to was that the person with TK needed to be within 8 squares and have line of fire to the person being moved. The person being moved has to be within 8 squares and have line of fire to the destination square. And the destination square had to be within 8 squares and have line of fire to the person using TK. So essentially A(TKer) sees B(target), B(target) sees C(destination), and C(destination) can see back to A(Tker). Ya know that whole triangle thing.
Last weeks game I had my TKer try to move a friendly character that was 6 squares away. I was told that since the distance between my TKer and the target is 6 that I could then only move the character an additional 2 squares in any direction. I couldnt move them all the way back to be next to the TKer. I also couldn't move them diagonally more than 2 squares even if the destination square was within 8 of the TKer.
You have it right, and the person who gave that advice is wrong. There is nothing in the power that states that the destination square can only be a number of squares equal to 8 minus the distance between TK and A. If this happens again, call the judge or ask the player to show you on the PAC where it says what (s)he claims
ok. that is what I thought. i didnt think i had playing it wrong since the TK rules were changed in 2011. And unfortunately it was the judge that ruled in favor of the incorrect way to use it. fun times.
