Hey guys, I just had a quick question about the movement of the team bases. I understand that its been clarified that the team base can be given multiple actions to do "vanilla" attacks and 1 power, 1 range action etc. What I wanted to know is foes this work for movement also? What I mean is that the base can only be given 1 move action, and 1 power which can basically be used for moving. But can it be given a plain action for a "vanilla" move?
Eg. JLA base at 600 points decides to move 1, shoot, shoot, move back 3, close attack, then end with 1 last move.
No. You may only give the base a single move action (moving as part of a non move action such as Charge or HSS can still happen). The freebie vanilla actions can only be used for ranged or close combat attacks as per the base rules.

There is no such thing as a "plain" or "vanilla" action.
If you want to move a figure you give it a Move Action. Sometimes Power Actions will include movement, but there is no such thing as a "vanilla" action.

There are generic abilities. Close Combat Attacks and Ranged Attacks are generic attacks.

Neither one of those is an ACTION. Big difference. Technically they are not actually "abilities" either.

The 'generic attack' is the stupidest concept, a mess entirely resultant of the 'cannot use the same action twice' mess. I wish it was either true that the same action can't be done twice ever (no generics), or you could repeat when the situation arises. As is, they seem unnecessary contradictions.
OK there is also No Such Thing as a "Generic Attack"...
The Team Combat Ability Working Together specifically allows you to use the Free Action to make any number of "Ranged Attacks or Close Combat Attacks."
Without that specific exception, specifically written into the Team Combat Ability you would not be able to use Free Actions multiple times to perform Ranged Attacks (effects).
Although I do agree the multiple Free Action rule is messy. It is there mostly because the wording of several Free Actions leaves loopholes that would be circular and perpetual without such a rule.
