Energy Explosion and Pulse Wave: Is the AoE damage fixed to 1?
I swear I've searched but I haven't found anything useful about this, so I'll resort to asking:
If using Energy Explosion on a Pulse Wave attack, how much damage take the characters affected by the Area of Effect?
The new Energy Explosion specifies that hit characters in the AoE are dealt damage equal to the number of bolts on the character's base. On the other hand, it IS a Pulse Wave attack, which, when affecting more than one character, fixes the damage to 1.
So, what would be the case? Hit characters inside the radius of PW are dealt 1 damage (if two or more are inside), and the ones outside the radius and affected by the EE AoE are dealt damage according to the number of bolts? Or maybe all are dealt 1 damage, since the AoE comes from a PW attack and there is multiple characters affected?
Another question, related to this interaction... The damage dealt by the AoE of EE is not ignoring powers like PW, because PW only ignores what is inside its radius, right?

PW only ignores game effects inside its area of effect, correct.
Also, keep in mind that PW TARGETS the character's it attacks. And EE's area of effect only works on characters that were NOT targets. So unless you have a character right on the edge of the PW area, and then another character(s) adjacent to that first one outside of the PW area, EE doesn't really work.
Now positioning so that PW only affects one of two aligned characters will be a really fun thing to do with my M10th Iron Man. Full damage to the first, and bonus 2 damage to the second, yay!
