Since Brother VooDoo gets MC as a free action with one token on him due to his trait, can he then use the HfH ata free action to use MC again?

I thought there was something in the rules that prevented the same action to be taken twice in a row or not being able to use 2 FA back to back. But I may be wrong.

No he can't. You're right about the "no duplication" thing. He can't Mind Control twice, if both are free actions. I one of the uses was a ranged/close combat action, then the second use could be a free action.
