Hi All,
I'm really new to Heroclix and I have a question about Outwit.
Can you Outwit a special ability?
ie: Wolfsbane has "Form of the Wolf" on her card as a special ability.
The ability gives her super senses andcombat reflexes.
Can you use outwit this ability, therefore removing both abilities for a turn?
Thanks for the help
Your problem lies in your wording. Yes, if Wolfsbane had "Form of the Wolf" as a special power on her dial, then it could be Outwitted, cancelling Super Senses and Combat Reflexes until the beginning of the next turn.
Traits (like the one you're talking about) cannot be Outwitted. I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think you could Outwit Super Senses or Combat Reflexes in this situation either, as the trait states that Wolfsbane "can use" these abilities, not that she possesses them.
EDIT: To clarify, Outwit states specifically that the target character must possess the ability you are attempting to cancel in order for Outwit to trigger, not simply be able to make use of it.

Wolfsbane's "Form of the Wolf" is a trait allowing the use of those powers and cannot be countered.

TRAIT ABILITIES
Trait abilities are possessed by a character at all times, regardless of how its combat dial is turned during a game. Traits may allow the possession or use of powers, abilities, or other game effects. Trait abilities are indicated by a star symbol () on a character’s base. Trait abilities are usually indicated by a star symbol on the character’s base, but may be indicated by a different symbol (such as, or ) in the same position. Traits can’t be countered, though in rare circumstances they may grant possession of a power or ability that can be countered.
When a character with multiple starting lines has a trait ability, there may be one or more point values next to the on the character card. These point values indicate the starting lines that must be used in order for the character to possess the trait ability. A character with multiple dials would only list the point values of the dials that possess the trait; these characters possess the trait ability whenever using the dial with the indicated point value(s).

Correct. Traits can't be countered because they specifically say so in the rules. And a power or ability must be possessed, not simply available to use, for it to be countered. If her trait said "she possesses Super Senses and Combat Reflexes" you could counter them, although only one per use of Outwit.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Thanks again to mbstoner for dragging out the rulebook when I have been too lazy to.
The bit I was unsure of is confirmed in his post here:

Note that it specifically states that it will grant possession. Wolfsbane does not possess Combat Reflexes or Super Senses, she can only make use of them, and therefore they cannot be Outwitted.
So a fig has a special power that allows him to use super senses and flurry.
The special power can be outwitted rendering both super senses and flurry unusable?
Or do you specify either super senses of flurry to be outwitted?
If Ultraguy has a special power called "Spinning Dervish" that says "can use Flurry and Super Senses" then what you would counter would be "Spinning Dervish", not Flurry or Super Senses, and everything SD allowed would be countered at once.
the same is true of countering Improved Movement: you don't counter each thing individually, you counter everything that IM grants that character.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
