Hello all. Soooooooooooo much has changed since M&M was out and though I feel competent in basic rules, the more advanced strategies in today's meta are causing me some minor brain spasms...here are a few questions for anyone patient enough to help me out here. (Thanks in advance! )
1) Capture: Ok let me just get this one straight first...any character can just run up and jerk someone with the or right off the board now?
For example, my hypersonic Flash could run up to Chase-Thanos, make a close-combat-capture-attack and remove Thanos from the game (if Thanos fails his counter attempt) rendering him helpless, and if no one "rescues" him before Flash can "drop" him off in my starting zone...he's dead +50VPs?!
That just seems overly powerful to me; albeit I havent tried it yet so it may be an easy strategy to play around. Are there some kind of restrictions as to higher vs lower point values, or base sizes that I am blindly overlooking? I know I've read that section in the RB ten or more times!
2) ATA's Have no clue how this works outside of whats stated in the RB. Do I need an actual card for this? Is there a 10% (or other) limit like Feats? Are there any restrictions? Or do I just announce that I have paid the cost of a specific ATA and thats that? If I need a card, where can I get them at and are they expensive? Or are the only available ATAs the ones listed on character cards like The Flash 050?
3) If I put Flash Grenades on the board, do I have to have a Grenade ability to chuck them at someone? What happens if I Telekinese them?
4) What Feats are legal? I have some old ones like Telekinetic Reach and Fortitude from the older stuff...but I dont know if they are still legal?
I will have some questions about multi-base and duo attacks later I'm sure...my friend and I are still buying and testing new clicks and rules the best we can.

Thanks folks!
1) No. Only figures that state they have the Capture ability can do that.
2) These are print and play, see the Player's Guides or the download section of heroclix.com Yu can print them, and everyone with the keyword has to be assigned it, and pay the cost (x points per figure with keyword) no limit, aside you can only have ONE ATA per force.
3) if you're meaning the pouch item, i believe it states whoever pics it up can use the Throw a Grenade ability? follow what it states on the card.
4) No Feats are legal.
Contrary to popular belief, I do know what I'm doing

That would be overpowered.
Fortunately, you're missing two things:
1) Only characters that can use the Capture ability can try this.
2) Capture is activated by its own action. This means you can't activate it mid-action with HSS and the like.

Officially, yes, you need the card, just like any other carded element (feats, BFCs, etc). Fortunately, Print and Play makes these cards just a couple clicks away.
The 10% cap applies to feats and feats only. ATAs are ATAs, not feats.
I don't know what you mean by "restrictions". Assign the ATA as described in the rules and there you go... what exactly is unclear for you there?

I have no idea what you are talking about here. Throw a Grenade is an ability some characters can use and some of those character can use Flash Grenades. I don't know of any Flash Grenades that "on the board" nor do understand how TK enters into the equation. Could you please quote the effect(s) you have questions about?

Modern Age does not allow any feats. Even if a brand new feat comes out tomorrow, Modern Age does not allow feats.
For Golden Age events, any feat would be fine.

If you do have such questions, I recommend starting a new thread *AND* make sure you include a title that actually sort of describes the question. It makes searching much, much easier.

1 & 2 are correct.
3. Flash Grenades are a relic from No Mans Land. They have to be picked up by a figure to be able to use them. The roll to pick them up is on the card as are the white/ blue side effects. Yellow side is when they are attached to the Utility Belt. Any figure can pick them up but you only get 1 roll to do it ( per figure).
4). This is incorrect. Feats are 100% legal in Golden Age games. Feats are not legal ( and aren't made any longer) in Modern Age games. House rules may vary, though.
I hope that helps.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

Not sure how what I said about 3 wasn't correct? I wasn't even sure that he was talking about the NML item or not...
4 yes, i could have been clearer on, but I wasn't wholly wrong either.

Thank you for you feedback! I will visit that site and print them off.
@normalview:
Those were some very clear responses, I appreciate that!
The "restrictions" question in ATA's was just a poor followup to what I asked previously.
I was just wondering if I put the grenades on the board during setup, and I use a TK action to chuck them, would they count for object damage or would they blow up for their effect like I effectively "threw" them?
Sorry about the title thing, I never really thought about that...I dont use forums very much! I didnt want to clutter the board with seperate questions so I just combined them
Off topic: this is a total shot in the dark, but your screen name wouldnt happen to be an obscure reference to MST3K: The Movie with "This Island Earth" would it? I love that movie heheheh If its not, and you havent seen it, I highly recommend it.

I meant correct as in "I've nothing to add here" but adding a vote of confidence.
4 is semantics, I guess. I checked to make sure the OP didn't say "Modern Age" in his question (he didn't) and the blanket response implied he should just throw them out. I just wanted to make sure he didn't think he had anything in his old collection that was unusable (although one could argue TK Reach is unusable ).
If there is one thing WK has done a great job with, its keeping the stuff from the very beginning still able to be used as long as a player is willing to do so.
Sorry to offend...

You're better off forgetting what you know and reading the new rulebook as of June 2013. Think of it as relearning from scratch which is good since there have been a LOT of revisions this time around and it sounds like you haven't been playing in awhile. Pay especially close attention to the new PAC because many old powers have been redux'd.
Where is the "Throw a Grenade" ability listed. I didn't see it in the rulebook, though I may have missed it. I know it was from one of the theme sets like Halo or Gears of War originally.

It's not in the rulebook. It's in the PAC.

If they are a light or heavy object, then they are TK'd like any other light or heavy object. If they are immobile (blue ring), then they can't be TK'd at all.
So if you are referring to the NML's relic, then they can't be TK'd. If this is something else you are referring to, you'd have to quote the effect.
