Talon's mind was racing. He had thrown caution to the wind with a nigh-desperate attempt to hit and upset Jason. Jason's expert block of Talon's blow had sent a shudder through Tim's body that aggravated the pain of Jason's previous attack. Tim's back hurt, and his prospects were diminishing...
Story:
Jason was perfectly at ease, crouching low in a balanced stance ready for anything Talon might do. When it seemed obvious that Talon was waiting for him to make the next move Jason didn't disappoint. He came forward at Talon raining a flurry of blows from every possible angle onto the smaller combatant. Talon was a great fighter by any standard, but he never stood a chance against the Red Hood. When it was clear that Tim was dazed and far beyond any form of self defence Jason landed one final bone jarring back hand for good measure, and sent the younger man sprawling to the ground unconscious.
"Noah, let's get Lex and Slade back to base and patch them up." "I've already started the jet." Jason and Slade helped Lex up out of the rubble and helped him along between them and up the ramp to the jump jet.
"I knew I was going to regret not having my battle suit." Lex said with a grin through a busted lip and swolen eye. "It happens every time."
Actions:
Free: Calculator will perplex Red Hood's damage +1 (gotta get that extra 1 IAP )

"We're coming up on Metropolis now, bringing up the refraction shield. Don't want Ultraman spotting us on the way in again." Noah expertly piloted the jump jet into the hidden entrance of the LexCorp hangar. Once inside Jason helped Lex up from his seat.
"Slade, come with me to the med bay. We can talk while we get ourselves patched up." Lex studied Slade Wilson as he moved toward the door, but he got no read on the man at all. He had never been able to tell what he was thinking anyway, so he began limping toward the medical wing of the underground base.

Talon slowly returned to consciousness. His head was spinning and his entire body ached, but nothing felt broken. His surroundings were all wrong though. He had been in the desert... where was he? Talon opened his eyes and saw a dark ceiling high above that he recognized all too well.
"Oh, hell..."

Slade lay on an operating table with no less than three machines working over him, repairing his wounds. The bald man, Lex, looked over at him. From the look on his face, he was concerned. Why? He looked familiar but Slade couldn't place it. They were once...allies?
"You don't remember any of this?" Lex asked him.
"Any of what?"
"The battle with the Crime Syndicate?" No. "Jason? Noah?" No. Lex hesitated for a moment. "Rose?"
A memory flashed before his eyes. A little girl no more than seven holding his hand, her long white hair flowing in the wind. "Rose...yes, I remember Rose." Her smile was so bright. "It was the day before Addie's birthday. We were going to get her a present." Then Rose was gone. The sidewalk was stained red. He could remember feeling the warm liquid on his hand as laughter echoed all around him. Then, he appeared. The Flash.
"West." Slade growled sitting up and swatting the machines away. "I'm going to kill Wally West."
"Calm down," Lex told him. "Who's Wally West?"
"The Flash!" Slade shouted. "He murdered my..." No. West was too young. There had been another...he couldn't remember.
"You're confused." Lex put his hand on Slade's shoulder. "It was Chambers who killed Rose. You remember? It was Johnny Quick."
"Quick..." He was right. Of course it was Johnny Quick. Then who was the Flash? Why could he remember Rose fighting alongside him? She was a teenager. She wore his mask. He shook his head. None of it made any sense. Rose was dead. "Did we catch Quick?"
Lex hesitated, again. Slade glared at him. "Not yet," he whispered.
"Then what are we waiting for?"
"It's not that simple. Quick has powerful allies. The people are afraid of him and his kind." Lex rubbed his face and sat down. He took a deep breath. Looking at Slade, he seemed all but defeated. "There aren't many of us left."

Lex left Wilson alone in the med bay to try and sort out his thoughts. He walked into the next room over where Kuttler was sitting in front of a bank of medical readouts.
"Lex, take a look at these readings. I did a full body scan on Wilson to see if I could find anything."
"You mean you were checking to make sure it was really him."
Kuttler took off his glasses. He was tired. "Look, Lex, no one's questioning your leadership." He smiled. "But if everyone here shared your optimism, we'd already be dead. Yes, I checked up on our friend but that's not the point. Look here." Noah brought a readout of Wilson's brain on screen. "The results show that everything is good. No trauma, no damage, no signs at all of anything that would cause amnesia."
Lex shook his head. "So you're telling me that there's nothing wrong with him?"
"No, that's not what I'm saying. There's clearly something wrong with him, we both watched him get pulverized by Ultraman. I knew he had a healing factor from the work done on him, but I had no idea it was this strong. He should have broken bones, burn marks...and then there's his memory loss."
Lex stroked his chin as he examined the readouts. "If his body has healed so easily, why hasn't his mind?"
"I'm not entirely sure anything healed at all. We could be dealing with a clone. That would explain the lack of physical damage and the missing memories keeps him from giving away that he doesn't know something the real Slade Wilson should."
Lex shook his head. "If Owlman had advanced cloning technology, he'd have better uses for it than putting a mole in the Society. Besides, Slade remembered Rose. The Syndicate wouldn't bother with that."
Noah smirked. "If it was Jokester, I'd say he was pulling our leg."
"But it's not and he isn't." Lex just shrugged. He hadn't known Slade to make more than a sarcastic quip in all the years they had worked together.

Jason sat in his room. He had his custom .44 hand guns disassembled for cleaning and laid out on the desk in front of him beside his signature red helmet. The confrontation with Talon had him thinking about his old life. His own time as Talon had not been pleasant, but he had learned a lot and Owlman had been the closest thing to a real father figure he'd ever known. Jason remembered his biological father, but not very fondly. The man had been a crook, and had gotten himself killed. Then Owlman had taken him in and much of what Jason was now had been forged under his strict tutelage. He was grateful, but eventually it had gotten to be too much. Owlman had to control everything, and he'd started getting more and more brutal in his methods. He had confronted his mentor, his father, trying to make him see that he was becoming a tyrant, no better than a slum lord or mob boss.
Owlman would never hold back during their sparring sessions for fear of making Jason weak but that was the first time Owlman had ever struck him out of anger.
Owlman had frozen and looked at his own hand as if he couldn't believe what he'd done. He had lost control. He looked back at Jason but all emotion had left his face. He calmly told Jason to get out and never come back. Then he'd just turned his back and walked away. That had hurt more than any punch ever could.

Talon sat up on the hard table. His head began to spin once more, and he would have toppled over if not for the strong hand that clamped down on his arm. "You let him escape," Owlman told him, his calm voice contrasting with his iron grip on Tim's bicep. "You had specific instructions to inform me if you found any members of Luthor's Society."
"He was alone and unarmed," Talon stammered, flinching away from his mentor. "I thought my team could handle the situation. We were going to bring him to you!"
"You thought wrong," Owlman replied. "That's two costly mistakes you've made."
"There wouldn't have been a problem if Lex hadn't shown up and brought Jason along with him! Your 'son' was the reason my mission failed!"
Talon regretted the words as soon as they left his mouth. Owlman's gloved fist hit Tim's face like a sledgehammer. "Lex?" he repeated, his voice still calm and devoid of emotion. He struck again, this time in the side, cracking one of Tim's ribs. "Jason? They're not your friends." Owlman threw him to the ground. "And the Red Hood is not my son."
Owlman's boot pressed down on Tim's hand, causing the boy to cry out in pain. "In the future, you will refer to our enemies by their last names or their costumed identities. When you awake, you will take what's left of your useless team back to your tower and you will inform me of any leads you uncover." He moved his boot to Talon's throat and pressed down almost hard enough to keep him from breathing. "I do this not out of anger but to let you know how serious I am when I say that if you fail me again, I will end you. Do I make myself clear?"
"Some of this is coming back to me, but I still just can't remember.." Deathstroke and Lex sat in comfortable chairs around a low coffee table in the living area.
"I'm sure your memories will return in time. When they do, I would really like to know where you've been these last few days. We thought you dead." He took a sip of his coffee. "We didn't expect you to show up in the middle of the dessert. It was quite the surprise."
"I wish I knew." Slade rubbed his temple. "I have something nagging at the back of my mind, but I just can't seem to figure out what it is."
"Don't worry, old friend. We've got plenty of time to sort things out. What's important is that you're back. We were scattered and beaten pretty badly. Truth be told, I wasn't sure if the Society would be able to come back from it at all."
Their conversation was interrupted by the alarm going off. Kuttler's voice came over the intercom. "Red alert, people. We've got an assault in progress on LexCorp metahuman research lab 3. I don't see any of the big Crime Syndicate guns, but you never know. The security bots Lex set up might hold them off until we arrive, but we'll need to hurry if we want to save the lab."
"Well, looks like you're not getting any down time for homecoming."
"Good, I was starting to get restless anyway." That sounded like the Slade Wilson he knew. He was the real deal. He had to be.
