Ok, so one of my players brought up a question at our game yesterday and I am not sure how it should have been ruled but it seems an interesting question to me.
The question was, if Lady Deathstrike uses Quake can she then roll her BCF too possibly do 1 penetrating damage.
How I ruled it was as follows, he gives Lady Deathstrike uses Quake, this locks her damage 2. Since Quake is a CCA, she can use BCF, however the damage will never be locked to a higher value than 2 since quake locks that when you use the action. However, since her printed damage value was 3 at the time, he rolls a 2.
This results in everyone hit with quake being dealt 2 damage and then 1 penetrating after the fact.
I am not sure if I was right or not, and would like input.
As a side question, if he rolls a 1 with BCF the damage value would not go down to 1 since it is all ready locked at 2, right?
Quote
CUTTING WITH FORCE EXERTION: When Lady Deathstrike uses Blades/Claws/Fangs, if the result of her d6 roll is lower than her printed damage value, hit characters are dealt 1 penetrating damage after actions resolve.
Quote
Quake: Give this character a close combat action; this character's damage value becomes 2 and is locked. Make a close combat attack that targets all opposing characters this character can attack with a close combat attack. Each hit character is knocked back 2 squares
Quote
BCF: When this character is given a close combat action, you may roll a d6 after making a successful attack. The result replaces this character's damage value, then that damage value is locked.
