Well, the Utility Belt and Gauntlet specify when they are assigned, and they are two different times. The BoS just says it's assigned to all characters on your force. Why wouldn't it just be an ongoing thing? If they're on your force, then they're assigned the Book. Thus, when they join the force it's assigned to them.

The issue I have is not recognizing that the Rules team works hard to research rules documents, creators' intent, and the impact on play. They put their ruling out. And then people challenge it, as though they aren't entrusted to these decisions for a reason. It's disrespectful to hard working volunteers. This matter was decided a while ago, and the OP is not bringing it back to the podium with a challenge that basically boils down to, "Who are you to make the decision on ambiguity?"

Assuming all the rulings given in this thread are final, what specific things are actually confusing players (pertaining to issues in this thread ONLY)? If someone can provide a list of specific things that people feel need clarifying, I can submit that list and see if the Rules Team thinks any of the items actually need clarifying.

I am not promising ANYTHING. I am merely saying that I will ask the rest of the Rules Team their opinions and see if any of the provided issues really need clarifying. If we think something does, then we will look into clarifying the item.

Thank you. As far as I can tell, these are the primary issues:

1. When are Resources assigned if it does not clearly state it on the card?
2. Does the restriction that a Team Base cannot have a Resource assigned to it prevent a resource that is assigned to "all characters on your force" from being on the same team? If so, why?

I am sure there are a few others that I am overlooking (rules arguing while at work), but those are the primary two points of contention at the moment.

In all seriousness: When are resources assigned? Utility Belt specifically states during force construction while BoS omits a specific phase.

If BoS assignment is check continuously, does that mean it applies to figures joining your force mid-game through creation or MC?

If it's checked continuously, does that mean you can't MC a team base (or other figures that can't be assigned resources) if you are playing BoS?

Altho I see your point about the BoS not stating clearly that it is assigned before force construction, it has been ruled that it is assigned during force construction which is one of the reasons why you can MC a team base if using BoS and why it should matter what the final wording is about vehicles/resources for the same reason.


So far as friendly characters that didn't start on the team, there seems to be no negative affect for them because they can still fully use the BoS since it isn't stated anywhere that it must be assigned to be used simply that a characters on your force or friendly to those that are assigned.

Oh I know that as does the Cat, but he asked what where the questions coming form this thread. I think that's one of the questions that they'll have to bring back to WK for a clarification or confirmation. I expect BoS to have an errata issued with clarifying text similar to other resources.

Any conclusions for the ambiguities identified, or is this one to just let sit until a new player's guide updates the wording for either the problem resources or Team Bases/Vehicles?
