My favorite example is hammers dropping from the Book. The hammer will apparently check to see if the person it's falling towards can already quake, and if they can, the hammer will land very softly.
I'd like to know some clarification on this as well. Interested to know which one is which. So does the relic overrule the dial or does the dial overrule the relic? Or can you just use which source you want?

The dial beats the new source. We are lobbying for choosing a source.
Just make sure that the change also stresses that an altered version of a free action is still considered the standard version when it comes to the "Can't use the same free action twice in a turn"-rule. Unless specifically stated of course).
If we can use a free action via another source...will we finally be able to combo stuff like...lettig Electrocutioner get a free Special Quake from his power?
Or having Iron Soldier Given Black Light to drop Chemical Warfare?

rpgambit is just referring that we will be looking into the issue. We can't answer questions based on hypothetical changes. There may never even be a change.
It's best to not get excited or worked up about something that may or may not happen.
If something does change it will show up on a Players Guide.

I also support a "choose your source" change in the 2014 rules. For one, it gets rid of any potential situations where two non-dial sources grant a power simultaneously, so which one controls? Offhand I can't think of any (nor do I have the time right now to research), but I know it's possible. It really would simplify things and be more intuitive in general, the latter of which is something this game's come to lack in multiple situations.
