my question is, can you MC a flier and have it pick you up and take you elseware, say if Firelord was 4 spaces away, could i use the prof to make him come over and carry me to elevated terrain?

In order to carry somebody, the flier has to start their movement adjacent to the carried fig. So your above scenario would not work. If you were adjacent to Firelord and MC's him, I think you could then have him fly you to elevated terrain. Prof X would then be standing next to Firelord next turn since you have to drop the carried figs adjacent to where you end your movement.
