Colossus fragment stays on the base to provide Invuln, Giganta gets Namor, Tellus gets Cyclops, and Blight or Highfather gets Emma. Comes out to exactly 500 points.
Blight and Tellus both wildcard the PD team ability, which means that any ranged attack from anyone in the clump is going to give -3 to defense against their target. Blight gets +2 on his Mind Control attack from the two SPOs.
Highfather is the highest costed member of the team, and his pact should help against heavy-hitters. He also acts as a psuedo-Perplex with his Support special, and I should have the matching Takion in the mail by the time I play.
Now, I really like the Fast Forces Giganta for her maneuverability and heavy damage output, but I have the feeling that she could be replaced by someone a little better suited to that role. I'm also lacking in Outwit right now, which might be a problem.
I haven't playtested this team at all. Are there any obvious problems with it, or things that I should look out for? And if Giganta should be replaced, who by?
Science Police Officer is my favorite fig to come out of SLOSH, as he punishes pretty much every form of move and attack, and duo attack, and multiattack, and Flurry. Tellus extends their range so that all of my figs are covered by their effect out to a range of 8 - and not many figures have a range beyond that. Having two of them doubles the damage. They also have the PD team ability (which Tellus and Blight copy), and have the Blight keyword which boosts Blight's Mind Control.
I actually considered having two more of them instead of Giganta, but that felt kind of stupid, because at a certain point the opponent just says "alright, I'm just not going to do anything to trigger that". Their range is also kind of crappy without someone with mobility to extend their reach through Tellus.
I've done a little bit of playtesting with this team now, and the one thing I'm really worried about running up against is something like Solomon Grundy with a full Gauntlet, which I consistently have trouble with if they can break the Pact (and Highfather can't be protected against everything forever - especially with pieces like Phantom Girl that laugh at your notions of positioning with a mind towards defense). Grundy/Gauntlet isn't an auto-lose, but it's close.
This does not sound like a good team for that sort of venue, so unless you don't mind having everyone ticked off at you by the end of the event you may want to ratchet back a bit.
90% of rules questions are answered by RTFC. Most of the rest are answered by a proper grasp of English and common goddamn sense.

I'm guessing that he's gonna be going against other cheesy teams too. So ticking off somebody might be their kind of game. Hehe.
