That's what I was gonna say. That Batgirl has been going on lots of my teams since I got her. Also, the Penguin is neat and interesting.

Funny, every time I have skipped an event, it cost me much less to get what I actually wanted from the event than it would have costed me to attend it.

What I got out of it is that the OP is saying two things:

1) These event series, though they sometimes get bad press, can be pretty fun.

2) If you skip them, you will fall behind the competitive scene.

I hope those were his points, as they match my opinion.

I also have to agree with others about the NML pieces (so I guess I disagree with the OP here). That Batgirl is dope (I'm a Helena fan anyway, but she's very good), and Clayface is pretty dirty. Penguin is the only Resource I can play without feeling like a db.

Then there's Lock-Up, a figure who's all about capturing people and DOESN'T HAVE CAPTURE, and the Bat-Cave, which looks great on your shelf, but doesn't do much else for you.

Skipping events isn't the worst thing in the world -- It's certainly the best way to get all the LE figures for cheap.

Agree that Lock-Up should probably have Capture, though I prefer him without it, as I hate the mechanic. I was just surprised they made him for us at all!

So glad the Bat-Cave isn't a game-breaker. Prizes with such limited availability being OP is just bad for the game. The resource from NML that players couldn't be without if they wanted to stay competitive was the UB (aka Undercosted Belt). At least that was a participation prize (as were most of the pouches until GenCon...broken resource items that are very limited = bad combo for the game :P).
