So I just started messing around with hope summers and I have a question about her power mimic trait. It says
"give Hope Summers a power action. Choose a standard power possessed by any character within four squares. Hope Summers can use that power until your next turn as if she had a ranged value of 6."

Now does that mean she can make a ranged combat attack as if she had a range of 6, or does that mean she can just use powers such as outwit and mind control as if she had a range of 6.

Second, does the power she mimics have to be currently in the other characters dial? Say a charcters card tells you they have a specific power does that mean you can just pick any of their powers or does it have to be showing at that specific moment on the dial.

Oh and one last question,
Say hope summers is adjacent to emma frost. Emma frost has one defense power called diamond form that allows her to use exploit weakness, impervious, and shape change. Can hope summers mimic impervious? I wasn't sure because while it is a standard power it comes in emma frost's dial as a special power.

She cant mimic Impervious from Emma Frost because Emma does not possess the power, she can use the power.

Got to love the wizkids wordplay.

The biggest thing about this power of Hope's is the word possessed. The character you're copying the power from has to have that standard power showing on their dial. So no, you cannot use Emma's Impervious because she "can use" it but does not possess it. If you pick a power that uses range, your range value is 6.

So if I copy running shot she has a range value of 6?
Say I copy incapacitate. Can I make a standed range attack and use her printed damage instead?

(deleted for stupidity) If you use Incap, you would follow normal Incap rules.

Edit: re-read your question. And her power. It appears you can only use the power with a range of 6, so it looks like no-go on the standard attack. Giving her range 6 helps with MC, Smoke Cloud and Barrier. (there may be more with lower minimums, but those are the ones I recall right off the bat)

Wait, does the range value she gets when she copies apply in general, or only to the power she copies? From my reading of the power, if she copied Running Shot, she couldn't make a ranged attack without using Running Shot. Or am I wrong?
