When using this resource, is there a way you can have the fragment's ability affect everyone on your team?

During a recent match, i could have sworn i seen my opponent leave one of their fragment cards attached to the phoenix dial and the others on their character's cards, but i could be confused because this was the first game ive had where an opponent has played one.

When using the Phoenix Force resource, you can choose any one fragment attached to the Resource (if there is one attached) and everyone on your team that is assigned the Phoenix Force Resource (only those specific characters) can use the abilities (from the Resource side) of that chosen fragment fragment.

So if i have 5 fragments attached to my base and am using a three character team (everyone on the team having a resource attached), each of the three characters can use every ability of the 5 fragments?

The characters can use the effects (Relic side) from the ONE (1) fragment they have assigned to themselves that is done when setting up your characters. At the beginning of the turn you pick ONE (1) fragment that is attached to the Resource. Every character on your team that is assigned the Resource can use the effects (resource side) of the specific ONE (1) fragment that was chosen.

During placement, for every character assigned the Phoenix Force Resource you MUST remove an attached fragment and assign it to them. Any fragments left over on the base are the only ones that can be chosen when using the Phoenix Force effects. Every character on the force can use any of the powers and modifiers listed on the dial as well.

In your example, you would pick 3 of the 5 Fragments, remove them from the resource and place them on each of the three characters assigned to the resource*. The remaining 2 Fragments are still attached to the resource and, at the beginning of each of your turns, you can pick one of them for all your assigned characters to use.

* Note that you are not required to assigned the Phoenix Force to your entire force. You could have a 20 character Force and only assign the resource to 1 of those guys; the remaining 19 would not have any access to the resource at all.

I understand everything that you said except the above portion. Do you mean that if, in this example, there are two unassigned fragments at the start of a turn, i can assign one of them to a character that has been assigned the Phoenix force at the beginning of the game -OR- everyone thats been assigned the Phoenix force at the beginning of the game can use the abilities of the two unassigned fragments?

EDIT: I think the answer that im looking for, and tell me if im wrong, is that you start the game with assigning fragments of the phoenix force to your characters. Say three characters are assigned fragments, two fragments stay on the base unassigned. The characters get the stated abilities of the fragments assigned to them. They can also use the sections on the resource dial that correspond to the two unused fragments that sit on the dial.

They can use the effects of the unassigned fragments, but only ONE (1) of them per turn. You would choose which one (of the two) would get used each turn. You can pick the same one each turn or flip flop back and forth.
