Say CA040 captain America was granted TK from some powerful cosmic force, could he use tk to throw his shield around even when it's not attached to him?
And if he can, can he still target 2 characters for 3 damage each?
THE SHIELD (LIGHT OBJECT): The Shield can't be destroyed, only #CA040 Captain America can hold or pick up The Shield. When used in a ranged attack, Captain America may target two characters and deals 3 damage to each hit character. After any attack using The Shield involves, place it in a square adjacent to a target's square. This object does not count toward your force.
No, he can't use it to target two characters when used in TK. TK has its own special rules when using an object in combat.

why wouldn;t he be able to target two characters when he Tks the shield?
TELEKINESIS Give this character a power action and designate a target character or object (A) and a destination square (B). This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B. If A is a character, it must be a single base character and possess the or symbol. If A is an opposing character, make a close or ranged combat attack that deals no damage against A, and only place the character in B if the target is hit. If A is an object and B is occupied by an opposing character, this character may make a ranged combat attack targeting the character occupying B, dealing object damage and destroying the object. A character that has been placed by Telekinesis this turn can’t use Telekinesis this turn.

it looks to me like Cap is making a ranged combat attack via TK and the special abilities granted by the Shield create special conditions allowing him to target two people, when otherwise he would not be allowed to.

Because you didn't highlight the entire thing:

If you can only attack the character in B (the place you put the object). You can't have two characters occupying the same square.

CAPTAIN AMERICA'S SHIELD: Captain America begins the game holding The Shield, Captain America can use Super Strength but only to pick up and hold The Shield. Captain America does not use The Shield while making close combat attacks. While The Shield is being held by Captain America, he can use Energy Shield/Deflection and Running Shot. THE SHIELD (LIGHT OBJECT): The Shield can't be destroyed, only #CA040 Captain America can hold or pick up The Shield. Yes, TK has it's own rules, but, Cap has special rules. His rules state "When used in a ranged attack, Captain America may target two characters and deals 3 damage to each hit character."
TK allows a character to make a ranged combat attack. The Shield doesn't specify how that ranged attack is made. Just that when it's used in a ranged attack.

HEROCLIX “GOLDEN RULES”
In general, game effects originating from rules on individual cards supersede the rules in this rule book (that’s part of the fun!). However, there are a few rules that can’t be over-ridden by any game effect. Any game effect that would seem to break one of these rules is ignored. 1) THE RULE OF REPLACE THEN MODIFY - If anything, the power on Caps card is replacing the damage value of the object by doing 3 damage to each of the two targets 2) THE RULE OF THREE - No modifiers involved 3) THE RULE OF OCCUPANCY - No conflict with the object occupying a square unless you are trying to place it in to a square of blocking terrain 4) THE RULE OF ACTION TOKENS Hmm, are we still ignoring any additional tokens? (this might be a rewrite for another topic, but my understanding is that you don't ignore it, depending on the situation, it can cause additional damage) 5) THE RULE OF MINIMUMS No stated minimums here except the
I really see no reason why you can't use the Shields ability with TK.
Okay, I'm really confused.
What are people talking about trying to do and not being able to do? I feel everyone is arguing something different than everyone else.
There seems to be something about TKing 1 object into 2 characters occupying 1 square, TKing 1 object twice (once each into 2 characters occupying 2 different squares), and something about TKing Cap? Or maybe the shield into Cap? Or having Cap and the TKer each attack the one or two targets?
I'm so confused on what we're even arguing about now.
