Not having the actual text in front of me, I have to assume the Units section is correct. So, based off of the above wording. Neko Mane King would have to survive the attack for his trait to take effect. Right?

Since it does not state it is still active upon his death, when he is removed from the board all effects from him are gone.

No. The trigger for his effect happens when he takes damage from an attack. As long as that happens, his effect will resolve even if he is KO'd.
