Whilst I can see why people don't like it when opponent's say "Pass" all the time as it may lead to an unfun game it is generally not a good strategy. No one is going to win anything saying "Pass" very much, it gives the advantage to your opponent. If I was playing someone who did nothing but pass all the time, to be honest it tells me they are not a good player and think standing around waiting for me to attack them is a good way to win. If you can't think of a way to beat someone who sits there and does nothing it tells me you aren't really using your brain. If you really need to bring in house rules to get around this then something is wrong with your players knowledge and/or skill.

There are however good teams that can be built around never leaving their starting areas and still being able to attack your opponent. Fantomex and Iron Pharaoh being the obvious Modern choices. There are also teams that win by getting a small advantage and then turtling for the rest of the game. These are all perfectly legitimate tactics in the game and I really don't see why people are complaining about them. Yes you might not make any friends if you continually play the same tactic week in and week out and everyone might think you are a douche but you really can't argue that the rules needed to be changed to prevent people doing it.

Heroclix can be enjoyed in many different ways, so what if your opponent gets fun out of sitting there doing nothing? Some people get fun out of playing only comic accurate teams, some people have to play theme all the time, some people just play their favourite comic book villains, some people do blah blah blah. I don't care or worry about what my opponent's team or tactics are going to be and I don't judge people for it. So many threads on the Realms are just about people complaining about how other people play the game. How about just learn to live with it and get on with playing the game and stop complaining about how other people want to have fun.
