Both of these are true. The only difference between the two set up boxes are the full art promo card.
There is on the other hand another playmat coming out for the Uncanny Xmen.
Same layout, different art

Did the first ones ever actually come out?!
Either way, I'd like to try to get a couple X-men ones if they don't vanish immediately.
i think he means, did they ever get released? It seems like they must have, but I never actually saw any in stock anywhere.
MDM seems to be pre-order or GTFO so far.
Which has got me worried UXM is going to be hard to collect too. But I don't want to pre-pay 3 months in advance again. I'm torn between my dice and my monies. It would also help if ANY one else had even a passing interest in it locally.

My venue got in three. I bought the last one and there were several other people i know that would want them.

My store got two play mats and I purchased one, because why not? I hadn't realized they were so hard to come by. The actual game material, sure, but play mats? Never even crossed my mind you couldn't just get those whenever.
Having used it a couple times, I am actually a little disappointed. In the middle of the mat is the same diagram that is inserted in the center of the rule book showing you the different areas. But unlike the RB diagram, there are no arrows showing you where stuff goes and at what times. I really liked that, as it was a great way to keep track of stuff as I was learning and even now helps if I have a brain fart. I am really thinking of just printing off enlarged versions of the diagram in the RB and laminating them.

This was my complaint too. I've heard that the answer is that "once you learn, you don't need it." But my retort to that is that WITH the arrows, the game becomes much easier to TEACH. To a NEWBIE. Who DOES NOT know.
So, for those who haven't seen a Quarriors, box, there is a main insert with room for cards and dice. Then there is a clear plastic insert that fits on top of the main insert (which is black) which is also shaped to hold dice. (Note, I have no idea what colors these inserts might be in the DM boxes, I'm just making it easier to talk about in my next paragraph)
dariusq - from your post, I'm reading that if I use the main/black insert for my dice and cover it with the clear insert, then I wouldn't need to be concerned about spillage. Can you give any feedback on if one were to use the clear insert to also hold dice? Is there little enough space between it and the top of the box so that there is also no concern about spillage?
So its more or less confirmed that the organizers in the Set Up Boxes are identical to the ones from Quarriors, which is fine. The new email newsletter from WizKids has pics and its pretty cut and dry. I'm probably going to hold off on these since I've already got extra trays but I do encourage others to consider this option.
And yes, the clear plastic tray does hold the dice firmly in place. I avoid putting dice in the clear top tray though since spillage is almost guaranteed. I also tried stacking multiple trays but that didn't help. Bottomline: you'll probably need one tray per expansion.

Which is why there seems to be an AvX box coming out soon as well as the uncanny xmen box.
