Let's say you have built your team and it includes the Green Lantern Power Battery and you have a Green Lantern Ring on it with one Construct, Decoy.
On your first turn, you give the Power Battery a power action to use the #1 Sun Power and assign the Decoy construct to one of your characters. Then you choose to roll the d6 to damage the Power Battery and the result of the die roll is 1 (or 2) and you deal the Power Battery one unavoidable damage, putting it on it's second click.
On your second turn, the Power Battery is marked with an action token and does not have any Constructs attached to it. What can you do to advance the Power Battery's dial past this click, on this turn?
I know that you cannot attack it because the Power Battery's rules says that only opposing characters can take a power action to target it.
If your force happens to have Blind Al, can she use her Old-Booby-Trap power on the Power Battery?

OLD-BOOBY-TRAP: Give Blind Al a power action when she occupies a starting area. Deal 1 penetrating damage to a character in that starting area and place that character adjacent to but outside of that starting area.

Thanks!
I don't think things that size can be placed so it may not be a legal target for her effect. Otherwise it would have been fine, I think.
You are stuck on click #2. In fact, if you have only one construct, it's kind of a hail mary to ever get past click #4. You'd have to use Support to heal no one first turn, then second turn use Use a Construct to push and roll for damage, and you'd have to roll a 5-6 to take enough damage.
If you do manage that, you'd have to use Barrier with Colossal Stamina. Then, Share a Construct, roll for damage (and not get a 3-4).
It's a whole mess. Just stay on click #1 if you only have one construct and keep the battery as a decent medic.

No. The power battery is not a character and that special power only works on characters.
"OLD-BOOBY-TRAP:#Give Blind Al a power action when she occupies a starting area. Deal 1 penetrating damage to a character in that starting area and place that character adjacent to but outside of that starting area."

Do you have something that says this?
My guess was not correct as they can only not be placed by TK so if they are characters than Blind AL will work.
It's a resource, not a character. Nothing says it's a character. It can't be affected like a character. It only affects line of fire like a character
Can't it be attacked? I know it's a resource but it is the first one to be on the bored let alone targetable. Again I ask do we have anything to back this or are you guys just swinging? This is new ground for us so if there is no ruling please lets figure rather than assume.

Which is what I thought, but I came across this in the Power Battery rules that casts a little bit of doubt.

Setup - During the beginning of the game, the Power Battery is placed in 4 squares of clear terrain in your starting area. The Power Battery affects line of fire, can use its powers and abilities, is damaged and KO'd as if it were a character. Characters, objects, and blocking terrain may not occupy the same squares as the Power Battery. The Power Battery is immediately KO'd when the last friendly character is defeated.

Emphasis is my own :-)
What the underlined part means is that it's dial is clicked when it's damaged and that it takes pushing damage. However powers and abilities that deals damage to other characters, e.g. Poison, cannot be used to deal damage to the battery as it is not a character.

One of the rules on the Power Battery is called "Attacking the Power Battery", that gives opposing characters the chance to damage it, but it is not actually an attack in the normal sense of the game.
Quote
Attacking the Power Battery - If the Power Battery is adjacent to an opposing character or within its range and line of fire, that character may be given a power action to roll 2d6 and add their attack value. If the result is equal to or higher than the Power Battery's defense value, it takes damage equal to the opposing character's printed damage value -2. This can't be ignored.
An opposing character couldn't, for example, use Running Shot and make a ranged attack against the battery.

To clarify you can never Attack the power battery. Attacking is a very specific thing. The Power Battery has a trait that is called "Attacking the Power Battery" BUT that is not an attack. It is a power action only. Anything that triggers off of making an attack will not trigger from this Power Action.
Further the Power Battery is not a character. There are some very specific situations where it is treated as a character and those are outlined on its card.
Blind Al could not use her power on the Power Battery.

Yes after reading the ruling posted that states they are not characters but treated as such only for the purposes stated I now see we have a clear ruling and wording to support it.
Thanks to you, mirandir, and stoner for clearing it up.
