Somebody had a small write up on the units page regarding a tactic to get Zox charged with Bite Tokens without engaging opponent figs.
For reference:
Quote
CONSTRICTING BITE: Zilus Zox can use Blades/Claws/Fangs and Plasticity. When he rolls a d6 for Blades/Claws/Fangs, put a number of Bite tokens on this card equal to his printed damage value minus the result of the d6 roll (minimum 0). Give Zilius Zox a free action and remove two Bite tokens to make a close combat attack as a free action.
The idea was to have Zox blades a wall or blocking terrain to generate bite tokens. Can you blades a wall? I mean, I can plainly see in the wording of SP that all it requires is the roll for blades, not necessarily a hit or damage. It was my understanding that you couldn't BCF a wall...since you need to have 3dmg to destroy it. I recognize that any fig can do anything (even if it doesn't produce anything fighting wise), just want to confirm that this tactic would be valid.
Dream BIG, but keep the small dreams around just in case...
You can attack a wall/blocking terrain even if you can't destroy it, so it is perfectly legal to use BCF on a wall/blocking terrain.
EDIT: From the Player's Guide:
Blades/Claws/Fangs
This power may be used to destroy a wall even though no
attack roll is made. The result of the roll to determine the
damage value must meet or exceed 3.
With Black Talon and dofpH002 Sentinel Sentry, you could create free Barrier, then MC Zox; he'll attack 1-2 adjacent blocking terrain tokens directly from the starting area and build up a pile of Bite tokens (in theory).
But he only gets bite tokens if he rolls low, don't forget that part. Also, having the Green Lantern with all green attached to it completely shuts down his attack. Or... y'know... OW.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

Don't you still take damage if you try to destroy a wall and fail? I know Zox has toughness but, wasn't this a thing at one time?
