So played I Goldyx with a friend the other day and while we were discussing him before the match he said that because energy explosion uses the printed on the dial it doesn't matter what move says on the number of targets he still does the 2 damage. While if this is the case I am not mad (it just makes him better XD) I was hoping for clarification on it because it was made with current rules of energy explosion. I was wondering if it doesn't work why wizkidz would do this.

FREEZE AND FLAME: Goldyx can use Energy Explosion as if he had 1 target. When he does and actions resolve, he can use Incapacitate as a free action.

Your friend was correct. Energy Explosion bases it's splash damage on the number of bolts printed on the base. And that does not change.

Goldyx can only target a single character when he intends to use energy explosion. However his splash damage is 2 damage due to the printed bolts.
