This guy is a must have for me. His trait isn't going to be easy to pull off unless you get all shenanigan-y, in which case a team build for a standard win condition will likely beat your team built for an alternate win condition. But even the introduction of alternate win conditions is worth the effort. I hope to see more figures like this one, and hopefully see similar things on characters I like as well.
Aside from the AWC he's completely underwhelming, which comes as no surprise to me. But I'm definitely interesting in trying to make him work.

I'be been trying the shenanigans route in my mind trying to get every detail to work out.
I've thought of black talons, shatterstars, bat signals and more.
But just as I was about to lose my mind, I merely thought "bizzaro".
Theoden's epic action and the new darkseid could help to complete the power by returning friendly characters to your starting area. I know is not comic accurate and also is a horrible waste of points, just mentioning a way to return your characters and complete the power
Just played a 300 point match with this Collector and Gardener for a Elders of the Universe theme team (Well....sort of) against an Asgardian team consisting of a 200 point movie thor and a marauder with some feats.
The Gardener started his first few turns sling shotting the Collector towards the collectibles which were three squares away from my opponents starting zone. (There were 3 collectibles) The collector avoided most of the confrontation by phasing behind blocking. But Thor finally caught up with a running shot attack. Collectors invincible REALLY helped keep him in the game as he rolled for two items...rested then rolled for another item...MISSED, rested then (While nearly dead on his 7th click without ever making an attack) finally had all 3 items on his card and phased behind some blocking.
Meanwhile Gardener SUPRISINGLY was holding his own against the marauder who was beefed up with feats. (Marauders and just about any other piece from the thor movie set was overpowered and undercosted) The Gardener continued to make his attack rolls and was hit onto his exploit weakness clicks. It was sad how evenly matched a 75 point figure was against a 150 point figure. (If ONLY I could use his time gem for a full dial of super senses) Anyway the gardener won because he had regen. Thor then went for an easy kill and based him, next turn koed gardener.
The Collector sneaking his way via the use of Phasing teleport FINALLY MAKES IT TO HIS STARTING ZONE!!! ahem.....what would've ended as an epic first recorded use of his "I must possess it" trait for an instant ko turned out just to be very close. The collector had to rest before being given the double power action to kill Thor where he stood. Thor was given plenty of time to run in and snatch the ko. I WAS ONE TURN AWAY FROM MAKING IT HAPPEN!!!! So basically it isn't impossible.....one freaking turn later and thor would've been in my collection!!!!
Between the Collector and the Yu-Gi-Oh extra rules, it's a start. It'd be nice if Heroclix could get to where they have optional scenarios with alternate win conditions for the game that would be used in tournament play, like other tabletop miniatures games.
The R stands for RAINBOW!
Winner of the first ever Gen Con Heroclix Golden Age Joker's Wild Scenario.
I really dont understand why this figure has such a low rating.Lets ignore his trait for a second and just concentrate on his dial for 150 points.
7 range
Power Cosmic Team Ability
2 clicks of Impervious
2 clicks of Invincible
Regeneration for longevity
Phasing teleport for positioning
Precision strike to make damage stick
Damage Power that shreds through prime and unique figures
Alone, stat wise and standard power-wise this figure is Totally worth 150 points. Now let us add in his INSTANT KO EVERYONE ON THE BOARD TRAIT and now we have a decent low point power cosmic mini tentpole that has a trick that no other figure in the game can do.....5 star piece
Hey! Now that pretty much the only person that would disagree is banned, I can say this without that dread feeling that I'll get an aggravation headache later.
This click sucks. Every Collector to date has sucked. While players may think him fun from a thematic or flavor perspective, they should not expect to win with this horrible garbage can of a dial.
I don't donate and I use adblock. I guess that makes me a thief?

This click is AWESOME!! Every Collector to date has rocked. While Fefnir may think him awful from a thematic or flavor perspective, Fefnir should expect to win every time with this tremendous recycle bin of a dial.
Hey Fefnir! Someone had to fill in, just for spite's sake. ;) Cheers!

There are two rules to success in life:
1. Don't tell people everything you know.
2.
Wow..."Nightcastle" not to be weird or anything but you seem to be my knight in shinning armor during my banishment. Uhm...thanks? You were the voice for the voiceless!!! Anyway, it's OK if you hate the Elders Fefnir. I happen to be bias because I love the characters as they appear in the comics. But i also use the figures quite a bit. They really are quite fun to use and I think you would be surprised. Just try them out...(shutters) being....nice....hurts....
I kinda wanna play this guy. Just on a team with a load of people with high movement and Phasing/Teleport or something. See if I can pull it off. I wonder how many Vanishers I have...

The above statement is completely false, and frankly the rating and comment come across as totally mean-spirited and non-objective. As much guff as Department H takes in the unit comments section, he makes spot-on objective comments about a great many (though not all) pieces. Don't always agree with him, of course, but I am thankful he takes the time to weigh in on so many figures. He answers questions and gives helpful advice at times, as well. No need for hating.
As a few others have mentioned, this is a very, very solid piece for 150 points, ignoring the collect artifacts win condition completely. This is a VERY long dial for 150 points these days, with a nice assortment of powers to keep him in the game and do damage to opposing teams' big hitters.
The alternate win condition is very enticing, and will be fun to try to pull off as well.
