Told myself I was not going to buy into any of the movie-based sets anymore, just to save some money. Can't resist hunting down new versions of Rocket Raccoon, though, and all 3 of these movie versions pack some good stuff.
Can't wait to see the comic book versions next month.
Fool, Idiot, Loser, Moron, Misfit, Schmoe.
Progressive-Centrist Republican, Deist.
Trying to be useful, expecting to be fired.
too bad his second shot is at -1dmg now because of the rules change made to try and reign in team bases... dang team bases are still ruining the game
FLE's Stark Industries -Movie-
HCFL's Thunderbolts: Marvel's Most Wanted!
RPSC's M: Astonishing X-Men
DC: Deathstroke and the Secret Society of Superheroes
Luckily for Rocket, DC75th Beast Boy has an "Outside" solution to his issue with making a second ranged attack. For 1 point more, add the GotG Silver ATA to wildcard Titans for healing. Animal style ftw!
I own the other Rocket Racoon pieces and yet I still would like to get this piece. More versions of RR just means diversity in planning how to use him on whatever team build i make. He is good for the points and willpower/stealth/double range attacks with Outwit is damn impressive!
without a doubt the worst of the movie set Rockets, which isn't to say he's bad, just that the others are better.
Gotta disagree with you there, brutha- this version of Rocket is insanely good for his points and the best of the movie bunch, IMO. First off, he ignores both hindering terrain and characters when drawing lines of fire. Couple that with front-loaded Outwit and, at a mere 75 points, you have one of the cheapest Stealth-busting Outwitters in the game and one made even better by his ability to ignore meat shields to counter a power on your opponent's big gun or get a clean shot at an annoying support piece. He also packs Stealth of his own and a better-than-average 7 range which allows him to affect the action without necessarily being in the middle of it- definitely a good thing considering his lack of damage reduction/avoidance and 5 click dial.
They say that one should always save the best for last, and so now we come to his attack SP, a form of ranged Flurry. While it is subject to the damage depletion modifier unlike traditional Flurry, his natural 3 damage, Willpower, and an abundance of shared KW figures with either Perplex or Enhancement grant him the ability to unleash huge amounts of damage that figures twice his point cost would have trouble keeping up with. Have him set up shop next to Cosmo to take advantage of the pup's Enhancement, for just one example, and Rocket here can rattle off a whopping 14 clicks of damage in a mere two turns, a feat made even easier with Cosmo's ability to save Rocket an action token by carrying him thanks to Tiny Size and the canine cosmonaut's PD TA.
There aren't many figures in the game that can offer as much as this version of Rocket does for so meager a cost.

...man, you might say, is nature dreaming... -Jeffers Floronic Man reigns supreme!
Clixathon SuperCap 12/3/11
All 4 modern age Rockets we have now are each very good and it's tough to pick just one to use on your team (I like to play highlander). However, this might be the best Rocket to use with the GOTG SR Groot. The chase obviously makes a pretty good case for itself and is almost mandatory if using the U Star-Lord, but for 25 points less you can park this Rocket behind your Groot and still get attacks off and Outwit stuff.
I'm gonna have to say this is not the best rocket from this set. Is he good, yes but they didn't make a bad rocket so that being said of course he's good. However, I own the chase from this set and 20 def on ranged attacks is retarded. With starlord he then gives all the gaurdians 19 def....wow right? Then he ups every adjacent guardian by +1 attack and if there ranged he gives them enhancement. That's a mini rce... +1atck/+1dmg and he has outwit. But that being said we should actually think of them all as 5 stars and for different purposes. This rocket I feel fills the ranged secondary attacker role quite well with his ability to outwit and perform two attacks in one turn couple that with willpower and u get a nice shooter.
I think this Rocket is underrated. His improved targeting makes him versatile. He can setup in the thick of it and still fire off twice and doesn't take pushing damage. Plus he comes with Outwit with 7 range to eat through defenses. I also like his 'Animal' keyword pair with Throg for +2 Perplex
