Hey guys, I've got a game coming up in a couple weeks. It's a thousand points, but only four actions are allotted. Here's what I came up with:
wol041 Parallax (Hal Jordan) 250
wol107 Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern) 180
++Decoy 6
++JLA Silver Age ATA 4
wol105 John Stewart (Green Lantern) 165
++Wall 10
++JLA Silver Age ATA 4
wol106 Jade 151
++Decoy 6
++JLA Silver Age ATA 4
slosh057 Lydea Mallor 79
++Ion 25
wol046 Abin Sur (Green Lantern) 50
++Net 8
Green Lantern Power Battery (GL ring, Nurse, Wall, Decoy, Crossbow, Catapult) 56
998 Total
Well, new strategy. Lydea can go ahead and hijack something, not to mention she'll be difficult to kill with her natural annoyingess + Ion. I don't think I'll be that out actioned now, especially considering the GL Power Battery shuts down colossals/team bases.
It seems quite solid, my main concern being Chanos, but that's why I'll be bringing along the Shadowlands map from Incredible Hulk.
What are your guys' thoughts?

I don't see any obvious weaknesses or committed, predetermined game plan. That team can be out actioned, but not by much since you are messing with the opponent's actions. Basically it's a strong flexible team that should be able to rumble with basically whatever it runs into.
You might want to check with the judge on how he would rule this:
Quote
(Special) Martian Telepathy: Opposing forces subtract one from their action total if not already reduced by any other effect.
Since the scenario is reducing the number of actions typically allotted, that might be considered "any other effect."
Since you're only running 4 guys, definitely watch out for swarms. GLPB is less effective in bigger games when teams can afford to run multiple pieces for multiple effects rather than having characters perform "double duty" in smaller point games. If you face a team with eight 100 point characters and 4 of them can use Perplex or Outwit and the OTHER four of them are the HSS/Charge/RS pieces, you could be in trouble.
My H/W link does not reflect the wants for my collection, it is a list of figures that I already have, but still "want" to play.

I hadn't even considered the scenario counting against the trait. Definitely check with the judge because if it's ruled that way swarms are a much larger issue.

Neither did I, that's a very good call. I will definitely check.
EDIT: Checked with my judge, Martian Manhunter will not be as effective as I wanted him to be. That sucks, I was really looking forward to that. So I will be changing my build in the OP.

His epic action greatly cripples the opposing team.
Use him and Validus in case of Chanos (and in this type of format there's gonna be at least one).
If he pulls off "teleport my greatest enemies", then hope for the best using Sauron's epic action and Validus's free action special pulse wave. The rest of your team picks off and incaps the rest of his team. Silver Banshee, for example, is good for her running shot pulse wave or triple target Incap. Use a t/k-er with Perplex/prob control to back her up. (eg- Scarlet witch, sister sercy)
Or, just try this team.
335 Sauron
249 Validus
189 Magneto (GSX)
152 Galadriel
75 Scarlet witch
= 1000
Magneto can double t/k out Galadriel and switch, while Sauron and Validus get to face Chanos. Meanwhile, the two girls double mind control the enemy to destroy each other. And Magneto is an offensive powerhouse, as well. Just keep him in hindering terrain. Have Validus copy Switch's or Galadriel's Mystics. (Why Sauron doesn't have Mystics is beyond me. Just like the Witch-king from the same set. )

Hm, I haven't thought about Sauron. Unfortunately, I don't have a Validus, so that option is null and void. I don't know, I feel with a +7 to map roll I shouldn't have a problem with Chanos. (In addition, the only person who would use it isn't a very competent player)
But hey, you never know. I might experiment with Sauron a bit, could be fun.

Is it possible to borrow Validus from someone? The dangerous thing about Chanos is that people often play him with a Capture figure like Captain Mar-vell (si042a), who will try to immediately capture one of your two biggest figures. With Sauron and Validus it almost doesn't matter who he captures because the other one will pulse wave and immediately get him back, and when you get him back that figure can immediately make an attack, too.
Hopefully the not-so-competent player won't include deadly figures to create a killbox around Chanos/Mar-vell, because most other figures will have a hard time surviving that. Thus your two biggest hitters are almost immediately KO'd.
Either way, if you can somehow add Validus to your collection, he's certainly worth having. But good luck with whatever team you go with, and let us know how it went.

Oh I most certainly will, and I thank you for the helpful advice. Luckily, the Chanos player doesn't actually have any capture pieces, so there's that
Granted, all this depends on whether or not I actually win the map roll as well
Not that u are worried about chase thanos but there is a much cheaper alternative and is a complete shutdown instead of a temporary solution, use the ravager le if you have one and place it next to the highest or 2nd highest character on your team

He means the Prime Ravager, which prevents adjacent figures from being placed. If either of your higher point figures cannot be placed, Chanos ability cannot be used.

Ah I see. Thank you. Even so, I'm not so worried about Chanos, but I appreciate all those who chimed in.
