When I saw Ralph on the set list I was really hoping for a Black Lantern variant in the prime slot. Although much improved over the CD versions as a super rare he will probably stay at a low cost since there is nothing game breaking going on here
Sigh...yes a figure is only measured in worth based on "brokeness". Well its a matter of perspective....dibny here brings back an old Giant ability by tieing opponents up from 2 squares away WITH plasticity. Which means characters using hypersonic speed or brawlers are really screwed. If someone does manage to get close or if dibny slaps himself in front of you...he can push to give himself a 20 defense. ALL the while pumping out barrier tokens to guard his back side from ranged attacks. Let's not forget his 8 range outwit that basically Ignores everything. For his cost...In the correct hands (and viewed by an 'experienced' eye obviously) Elongated man can seem pretty broken as he is now one of the most efficient and cost effective tie up characters in the game. Hmmm...perhaps YOUR broken is 16 range pulsewave as a free action with a locked damage value of 8?
elongated man, is a 5 star piece. so good, yet so underrated. so overlooked. put a sniper rifle construct on him. then just go to outwit town. no piece does outwit better IMO. and if your opposition didn't pack anti-stealth... then it's going to be a long day for them.
Even though it says "even if they would not have to do so normally." Usually my play group is pretty good with rules, but this has been a point of contention. Planted in hindering he's been hard to hit unless they ignore hindering for line of fire. I am not doubting you it's just one those strange corner cases that i've only avoided with hopping over outdoor blocking terrain.
They key word to note on that ability are "Even if they would not have to do so normally"
Normally, a figure would need to end its movement if they become adjacent to an opposing figure (Or within 2 squares, in the case of Enlongated Man). But, using powers or improved movement are not normal game rules. Powers/Traits supersede base rules, hence why they are so useful, am I right? Improved movement: Ignores Characters, Hypersonic Speed, etc...these abilities will allow them to ignore Enlongated Mans 'adjacency bubble' because these abilities either allow you to break away automatically, or ignore characters for movement purposes all together (Even ignoring his adjacency bubble, because IM: Characters doesn't care about breaking away).

Reason: add on
Win / Loss: 16-5 Ralph Dibney is a fantastic support piece. His Special Outwit makes him brutal to face and his layered defense can frustrate newer players. Extremely mobile and pushable on his first click I'm a bit leery about choosing to go to click 3 and will even use Barrier instead of attacking to avoid an errant crit miss. If you are facing Ralph, a way past his plasticity is to use stealth or another figure to block Ralph's LOF which is needed to be affected by his Plasticity boost. Ralph is everything I wanted in an Elongated Man - a stretchy Batman... EDIT: Haven't used him in over a year - so how does he do, now? Crushing it! 5 years old and still doing work!

Reason: Update record 3/6/20
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
I don't see why people keep wanting to put the sniper rifle on him. Does th two extra range really matter? I would rather play him with the Omega Drive, which now includes all terrain to see through, and the ability to outwit pretty much anything you want.

Seconded. The rifle isn't going to do anything for Ralph's Outwit- that's "as if he had a range of 8," regardless of what range he "actually" has (4, 7, 10, whatever). Plus, with the Omega Drive, he's basically a stealth Modern Age Reed Richards piece.
