... For a modern age tournament team. What do you go for?

Personally I'm debating between the pym particles or an id card but can't decide which is more beneficial

I'd say ID card, but really it matters on your team.

I've always instinctively gone for Wonder Girl's Lasso, then Terrigen Crystal came along offering better odds, but now ID Cards much better value.

If you want/need a cheap high-end attack at some point in your game, use an ID card.
If you want/need a brawler (or short-ranger) to be a little better, use the Pym Particles.

Between the two, I would go for the ID card all day. But, I play with the mindset that better offense is a better defense than sacrificing some offense for a better defense. If nothing else, it's a neat ace in the hole if things aren't going as expected.

If you already have resource (which you probably should) then that rules out a lot of stuff so I'd go with ID card.
