Hi all, I have some doubts about building a team for a ROC type championship. I have all batteries, entities and minis possible. I was also thinking about a team Gluttony/Doop like but I was a bit concerned about a Shatterstar + Despotellis + red ring team, any help will be kindly appreciated.
My suggestion is to brainstorm your own team instead of copying what everyone else is doing.
Start off by deciding what characters you want to play, then start putting together solid teams. Then add special objects, or (if really necessary) start adding resources and/or entities.

Seriously. After my first ROC, I wanted to start trading for GL Kyle Rayner. To smash every one I got with a hammer. Played against it in three-quarters of the tourney matches. I don't have the kind of money to do that with Doop and Gluttony. If you want to use the same pieces every time, play chess. Or is that too level a playing field?

Dude was giving his opinion no need to be a jerk about it. And I tend to agree with the idea build with what your comfortable with (especially if you don't have time to practice.) No one was playing gloop and then Kenny came along. The plus of everyone playing the same couple of builds is you can expect it and practice against those teams even though you can't build against everyteam.
Hahahaha, yeap u dont gotta be a jerk to make your point or sort of. However, In the kind of tournaments I played, nobody ever used a gluttony/doop team, actually its a bit expensive here in Peru. Actually, I must be a more specific about my collection and I apologize for that. I feel more confortable using a battery, specially the indigo and yellow but this time, I want to go off that. I think about a Nick Necro + ophidian and a Lex Luthor Op kit + Entity or Ion and Orange Battery, how you feel about it? About my collection, I have many minis from War of Light, GOTG, Deadpool, Trinity Wars and Flash. If you know or have some top teams from previous tournaments I can check for, I will really appreciate your help. Obviously it is not for copying it, I only want to have some ideas because I didn't know that gluttony/doop was very used, I though it was a new thing :S
Whatever you play, you have to consider your metagame. I personally think that the Zombie team base will wreck shop now that people are scared of Gloop. A yellow battery OMA might work as well as an answer for Shatterstar teams.
Any 300 point character in a 300 point game, or a high point figure with a resource and no/almost no help. Other examples might be a 295 point guy with a bystander and bat signal, or a 260 point guy with a full gauntlet.
OMA's play differently than most teams because you often only have to score 1 point and then run time out without losing your guy. Most often, you score points with every attack because of how strong the characters tend to be when they are your whole team.

I've been hearing that one man armies are too easily taken out. I'm working on a OMA myself and was just wondering if I was wasting my time.
You just have to have a solid strategy and account for a way to offset the fact that you will almost always be out-actioned. That being said, there are only a few figures that can really pull something like that off and you should really play the crap out of it so that you get a feel for all aspects (i.e. strengths and weaknesses) of the team.
