That is quite a leap to reach that conclusion from one side of a story.
Assuming the OP has no reason to lie (he isn't outing anyone) that's not a leap. You're not that versed in the rules if basic movement is tripping up your calls. Pun intended.
Just saying. Based on the OP's description which is all we can go on, it's obvious (even to the OP who hasn't played in a year) that a grounded non improved movement character would've stopped in that situation.
Boffing up calls on new powers interacting with 4 other SP's on top of a resource can get confusing and convoluted for anyone.
This? Come on. My recommendation for the OP is have a rulebook and PAC at all times to educate your judge especially if they aren't going to go the little extra mile to double check for themselves. No reason why a judge doesn't have a rulebook/PAC at their events.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Especially on the etiquette. Maybe it was that new iron man who threw off the judge. It's weird when both your opponent and the judge say your wrong and you can't help but feel that a mistake was made. Nevertheless I will respect the judge's ruling and let him keep the game going in the future. I will also bring a rulebook so I can check when the time is appropriate. I did think it odd the judge didn't have a pac or rulebook.
